Red and Black Valentine

Hi girls (and fellow crafters)

So, Elaine at work, really liked my Pink and Black Valentine card that I made for my hubby Steve for Valentine's Day, so she asked me if I would make a similar one for her hubby Steve, also for Valentine's Day. So here is my card (for her), only this one is red and black (with a hint of white). Hope she likes it?

I used exactly the same spec as before only this time I used Coco with Heart from the Digi Stamp Boutique. She really liked these bears so I decided to use this image instead of a Penny Black one. I used promarkers: Umber, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Cardinal Red and Ruby.

I am entering this card into this week's Passion for Promarkers challenge 'Let there be love'. Hopefully they will like it? As their DT always offer us such fabulous inspiration. Pop on over and enter the challenge for yourself. It's great fun.

Pink and Black Valentine

Hi Girls (and fellow crafters)

Just a little something I thought I would share with you that I put together for St Valentine. I decided to make a card for the Penny Black challenge 'January Sales'.

I bought the Spellbinders Nestabilities (Beaded Circles) and the Martha Stewart heart punch in Watford Market, from my friend Sue, and also the new Card Candy by Craftwork Cards (so glad that Sue has started selling these there too...yipppeeeee!). The Penny Black stamp 'Aren't you lovely?' I have had for a while but haven't used for a long time. Oh, and the ribbon was bought in the January Sales at Hobbycraft too. The lovely cherub charm, was a prezzie from Mum, who got them in Tesco.

So, I stamped the image onto plain white card and then cut it out with the largest of the Beaded Circles Nesties. I then coloured him in with my ProMarkers: Blossom, Rose Pink, Black, Ice Grey 3, Cool Grey 3 and Cool Grey 5. I then got a red coloured pencil and shaded certain parts of the hearts on the bow tie. I then put the three colours Card Candy around the scalloped edges of the die cut image.

Next, I cut a strip of Pink Petticoat white and pink polka dot paper and used my MS heart border punch to cut the top and the bottom of the strip. I did the same with the black mirri card, making sure that the mirri card was slightly thicker than the pink so that both strips of hearts would be seen. Once that was mounted I attached my long piece of 'kisses' ribbon which I wound around the card twice and tied in a knot, once I had attached the silver cherub. I then mounted the die cut image to the whole thing to another piece of the white and pink polka dot paper and mounted that again onto a piece of card.

I then made the easel base. I mounted some more white and pink paper onto some black mirri card and left a thin border around the edge. I then cut a thin strip of black mirri card and border punched it as before. I printed out my 'sentiment of the month' 'If I tell you I love you... can I keep you forever?' from Create with TLC and mounted that with foam pads. Finally, I cut out a white heart by hand and ran that through my Big Shot using the Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and stuck it to the top right hand corner of the sentiment. Et voila! Job done!

I am really pleased with how this card came out and hope you will like it too.

The Love Boat

Hi girls and fellow crafters

Here's another card that I have finally got around to editing.

This card was made using my new Country Companions set that I got for Christmas and this one has the loveboat included. What a sweet image, course... this would never happen where I live, unless the River Colne broke it banks, the only way I would manage to get Steve in a boat is if his other option was drowning!!! Nevertheless, it's a cute image and I really enjoyed colouring it in.  Another thing I love about these Country Companions clear stamps is that they stamp so well. Although... HINT: with the little text images (as you can see in the ladybugs message card on the bottle) you don't have to use quite so much pressure and it's best to stamp a few testers before stamping it into the text box, to get the pressure right.

I coloured the image in with my ProMarkers and then added some glitter STICKLES over the top of the water. I added a charm and a sentiment to finish.  The background DP is from the My Minds Eye 'Bright Dots' Collection.

Can I Keep You FOREVER?

Hi girls, here's a card I made for the Tiddly Inks challenge 'QUOTE ME'.

Is it just me or did January just flash by in a wink??? But hey, on the bright side, after a (what seems like a very) long month waiting for PAY DAY, it's finally coming this Friday! I got my December wages on the 17th December (as I work in a school) and therefore, it has been an excrutiatingly LONNNNNNNG month waiting to get paid.

Anyway, without further ado, here's my card.

I used a Tiddly Ink digi and coloured him with my ProMarker pens. The sentiment was from Create with TLC which is just lovely. I might even make a similar card for my hubby this Valentine's. Although I am generally a doggie person, I just love this cute cat.

The background paper is from Craftwork Cards and has a really subtle shimmer to it, although unfortunately you can't see this in the photograph very well.

This card won TOP FIVE in the Tiddy Inks Challenge

Penny Valentine...

Made this card for my boss to give to his better half, Jayne, for Valentines Day. He wanted two black kittens on the front and that was the only spec he gave me, so what else could I possibly use other than my old faithful Penny Black stamps? I just love them so.

Stamped the background with black onto white basecard with my two most favourite clear hearts stamps (are you sick of looking at these yet?) and then stamped the cats onto watercolour card, coloured with watercolours and then added a cut out heart and a ribbon with 'buckle' and some adhesive pearl gems. I then added a typed sentiment from the dictionary about 'love'. Another order done... hope he likes it???

I am going to enter this one into the Penny Black Saturday Challenge too... as it is 'SOMETHING SWEET!

P.S. He loved it!!! And can't wait to give her the card in just over two weeks. He's all loved up, bless him!!!

Valentine POP-UP

This is the Valentine card I have created for this week's challenge over at the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge blog. The idea this week was to make a one-off, original pop-up card made especially for the challenge. So... the image as shown above is my card front. The red hearts that are stuck on the front are all different levels, i.e. stuck on with DSSS, foam pads and double thickness foam pads so that they are all staggered at different levels. The background I stamped myself with two different heart stamps. The sentiment was copied and typed up from a dictionary and the ribbon was attached to finish off the card.

And this is the inside of the card... A simple pop up made with red thick paper to which my messages have been added and hearts have been stamped along the outside edges.

I Love You

Again, another view of the forever friends heart stamp. This time I stamped it onto water colour paper and coloured it with promarkers. I then stamped three hearts and pushed a brad through each of them. I then mounted them to the image with foam pads and added the image to the base card. I then stuck down the glittered letters to read 'I love you' and added a 'love' brad to the 'o'. Hope you like it.

Be Mine

Getting in the mood for Valentine's Day, I decided to make this card with my favourite forever friends stamp. The back ground has been stamped with heart and 'be mine' stamps in black and the image, once coloured with my promarkers, was mounted onto magenta mirri card. The larger hearts were stamped onto the same magenta mirri card with stayzon and cut out. I then added the ribbon, which was recycled from one of my jumpers. Matches perfectly. Hope you're all getting ready and excited about Valentines Day as I am and hope you all get loads of goodies.

Tree O' Love

Another image that was posted by snail mail to me very kindly by Diane, thanks hon. I love these little bugs which are standing by a Tree o' Love.

I decoupaged some of the hearts to make it more 3D and added the flowers and the gemstones. The circle with '14 Feb' inside was sent with the bugs so I'm not sure who they are created by but it worked well together, Although the image was stamped with Stayzon, I decided not to watercolour it but kept the colours bold by just colouring them with pencils. Some of the leaves look blue in the picture but they are in fact all green just darker shades.

Norton's Love

I love this bear. Again, images were sent to me by a friend of a friend which I coloured in using pencils and hand drew the border around the outside. The 'I Love You' writing at the bottom is my own handwriting too which I highlighted in areas using a white pencil to add depth. He's gorgeous isn't he???

It Mice be Love

This is another offering from the wonderful world of Penny Black. I love these mice and they were sent to me by Sarn, many many moons ago. I finally found a way of incorporating them into a Valentine's Card. I think they came out rather well with the flower and gem stone embellishments.

Valentine Kitty's

I made this Valentine's Card for my boss who wanted something special and handmade for his beloved Jayne. Hope he likes it. He has also added a personal poem inside, but it's too personal for me to add to my blog, just in case she should happen to see it before Valentine's Day. Image is Whipper Snapper.

How could I start my comeback without a Penny Black stamp??? I love this one. I received these stamp images as a present from an e-bayer to welcome me back, bless her! Hope she likes what I have done with it.

It Moose Be Love

Got a rather worried phonecall this morning from my Nephew, Chris, who I think must've been asleep for the past two weeks as he had no idea it was Valentine's Day on Thursday until this morning when he called me. 'Please Auntie Fae, can you make me a card for Nicola?' So here it is, I told him it was just as well I'm off work this week else I would never have been able to get it ready in time for him to pick it up tonight.

The moose stamp is from Whipper Snapper, mounted onto red metallic card and then mounted onto a brown strip of leftover cardstock then stuck to the red cardstock base. Flowers, again are from PaperMania (told you I went a bit mad buying stuff yesterday Sarn!) mounted to the card with mini silver brads. Coloured with pencils and added the silver lettering to personalise.

Moo's Be Love Too

After careful consideration, I decided that something was missing from this card, so I added the flower. Too much? Better? Worse? You decide. The brad in the centre of the flower was plain white so I painted it with my Clinique nail varnish as the colour matched perfectly. Told you I was Anthea!!! Personally, I think it's an improvement as there appeared to be too much 'white' space up there. We'll see when your comments come in, what you think.

Roses are Red

I LOVE this stamp from Penny Black (Furry Love).

I decoupaged the envelope, the wrapping of the bouquet with the cats hand and the roses only. Coloured in with Marvy le Plume felts and coloured pencils.

I then mounted the cat onto red metallic card which I then mounted onto a sheet of leftover red card. I also mounted the strip onto red metallic card and added some Zoomz. I then mounted the whole thing onto white cardstock.

Handle with Care...

This heart 'felt' card was made using Penny Black stamp 'Fragile'. I decoupaged the heart, the cats hands and his foot to give a 3D affect. The red hearts above the cat on either side were created using a magazine freebie which has the 'Magic Transfers' and the red felt. Once you attach the glue image of the heart you simply place the felt over the top and rub and the felt remains on the glued image. Purrrrr-fect!

P.S. I love this cat as he has such a cheeky face.

Kisses

Another Valentine card. Not long to go now...

The 'lips' stamped in the background are from Hampton Art and I love them so much. Perfect for backgrounds or just adding a 'kiss' after my signature on a card or the back of an envelope.

The hedgehog is... yes you guessed it, Penny Black and you will see I've left the image black and white except for the hearts which were coloured in with a pink jelly roll pen. Added some ribbon and some pink Zoomz and it's done.

Love is in the Air...

With Christmas barely out of the way, we now have lovely Valentine images and hearts everywhere we go. Bah St Valentine!!! Anyway, enough of that! Here's my first card to offer dear old St Valentine.

This PB stamp is so cute and I've decoupaged the hearts, cutting out the missing centre piece to give it a bit of dimension. Simple but cute enough I suppose. Someone will appreciate it, I'm sure (will probably be my daddy this year!)

LOVE YOU DADDY and who need's Valentines Day anyway to tell someone you love them!!!
