Christmas Trio

Okay girls,

Here's a little something I made last night. I started it on Rudolph Day but didn't finish it until last night... so it still counts!

I made the card using a snowflake stamp that is made by Papermania and the main image bear is by Lili of the Valley, which I stamped three times and cut out individually. I coloured each bear with Ice Grey 2, 3 and 4 and then used Ruby and Poppy on the hat and Canary for the star.

I stamped the snowflakes with metallic silver ink onto red card.

I then simply added some glitter Stickles to the star and on the white areas of the hat.

Mother and Son crafting sesh 2

Hi girls
Here's the second card I made last night, using one of Simply Bettys Stamps. I coloured her all in green as it is for a Halloween Birthday.

I kept it simple by just adding some green DP (although it's Christmas paper, I thought it would serve a purpose without necessarily being Christmassy).

I added a black flower and a black birthday greeting sentiment.

I mounted the image onto black mirri card but at angles so that it wasn't just square on square.

And here is Lewis's version of the same image, using the same DP.

He added some hearts to the top of the image, as he thought she looked like she was thinking about a loved one. Ahhhh x

Again, I think he has coloured this in really well and his card looks fab.

Thanks for taking the time to view our cards today. I hope you liked them?

Mother and Son crafting sesh 1

Hi girls

Me and Lewis have been having a fun weekend making cards together. It's been lovely. He's been copying all my cards and we've just had lots of fun. I think he's a chip off the old block too because I think his cards are fab!

Here's my card using one of Mo Mannings images from Digital Pencil. I just love this image as it reminds me of my childhood. Me and my parents dogs would just fall asleep anywhere, usually with me using one of the dogs as a pillow. I think my parents have even got a photograph of me in a similar pose with one of the Dobes. I'll have to see if she can hunt it down.

I added some scrap DP from My minds Eye 'Dotty Stack' to a black mirri card base card and then mounted the image onto red and black card and then added the flower which was a prima flower in pink and black but I used my ProMarkers pens to re-colour the flower in red to match.

And here is Lewis' card (he's 9 years old BTW) using a similar image (mine is a little girl and his is a little boy). Isn't it brilliant? I helped him do the dots because he was worried that he had done a little too much around the edges. I think it's perfect just the way it is. I'm looking forward to crafting some more with my new crafting buddy. It's nice to have company now and again but he was so enthusiastic and so pleased with what he had managed to create that I thought I had to share it with you all.

HPS Challenge #2 Monochromatic

Okay girls

Hodge Podge Challenge Number 2, is all about 'Monochromatic' so get your cards in for this fortnights challenge over at the Hodge Podge Shop.

You don't have to use a Hodge Podge image to take part but it helps. Here's my card for the DT and I hope you will make some time to join us. We had some amazing cards in for the last challenge. It'll be nice to see some new faces as well as the ones who took part last week.

My card is using one of the Hodge Podge Shops digi stamps and just white, grey and black to colour. The background has been stamped with a clear heart stamp and black ink only. The text was printed off the printer.

Hope you like it and I'll look forward to seeing your creations soon.

Bye for now
Thanks for stopping by.

My Creepy Halloween Valentine

Hi girls, last one for today and this one is being entered into TWO challenges.

The first one being -
Haunted Design House: A Li'l Lurid and Lovesick and
TiddlyInks Challenge Blog: Anything Halloween

I, of course, used a Tiddly Inks image and coloured her in lurid red and distressed the edges slightly with coloured inks. And then the inside has my 'heart' for my hubby. Bleurghhhh, I hear you say! But I love him. I do!

It's a Halloween Valentine... why don't we actually have these cards in the shops. My heart belongs to you and all that. My Creepy Valentine... good idea for goths anyway.

I hope that it complies with both challenges rules and that you like it. Mores the point, I hope hubby likes it. He's not as creepy as I am. Whaaaaa ha haaaaaaaa...

Here's a little look at the inside of the card.

Yes, yes... I know it isn't Hallowe'en yet but, Happy Hallowe'en Girls and Boys.  Watch them bed bugs don't bite.

TWINS!!!

Hi girls,
Just a couple of little ones today.

I made these cards for a good friend of mine, Antonina, who has twin boys, Gianni and Louis, who celebrated their 8th birthday on Friday last week.  I know that she has received them now, so I can post them onto my blog.

The digital images are from Karens Doodles and I have coloured them with ProMarkers: Denim Blue, Forest Green, Cocoa, Blush and Ivory.

This first card, for Louis, was coloured simply and added a little dotty background. Then I mounted the image onto black mirri card and then mounted it again onto a scrap piece of My Minds Eye 'Dotty Stack' designer papers.

The wording was placed beneath the image when I selected which image I wanted to print.

The second card, for Gianni, was coloured in exactly the same way, well... they are TWINS... and mounted in the same way only I used a different Karens Doodles image and different DP also from the My Minds Eye 'Dotty Stack'.

Although they are twins, I am sure that they have very different personalities, so that's why I wanted to make their cards similar but different. Hope Antonina and the boys like them.

Hope YOU like them too.

Christmas Humm-Bugs

Card number four is last but by no means least and is my current favourite Christmas Card for 2010 so far. I used a Tiddly Inks image and kept the colours mainly red and green.

I had great fun colouring this image and used my infamous spotted background around the image, picking out some of the colours used on the image, which I think looks pretty cool.

I mounted the image onto black mirri cardstock and then cut some red DP and mounted that too. I then added a ribbon and a small present and finished the card off by adding little sprinkles of glitter to the baubles and the fairy bugs wings.

Hope you like it too?

Fairy Nice to See You

Card number three is made using another Tiddly Inks image. I love these little bug fairies. I coloured her in with Cardinal Red, Indigo Blue, Cinnamon, Cocoa, Henna, Blush and Ivory ProMarkers, and added some gold Sakura Gelly Roll onto to the star.

I took two different DPs and tore the edges from one of them and made the second piece smaller and stuck it to one side of the image. I mounted the image to the card and then added some flowers and a rustic charm (from an old bracelet... did I mention before? I keep EVERYTHING).

I then simply added the sentiment. Job done.

Whazzzzzzzup?

Here's card number 2, using a fab image from Simply Betty Stamps. Using the same technique as before, I enlarged the image to fit the A5 card and then printed a duplicate of the same size onto plain white card. Cut some parts of the image out and coloured those in once mounted onto black mirri card. I then printed off a smaller image and flipped it so that she would be facing the other way. I coloured it in with Lianne's school uniform colours in mind, but she'll either use it for one of her friends or I will use it for her.

Hope you like it? Experiment over now... I promise.

Experiment in Terror

Hi girls
Had a busy week, despite being full of flu. I have made a few cards that I would like to share with you and, a few that I won't, Mojo has been as poorly as my head I think and therefore SOME of the cards are fit for publication and the others... well... they're only fit for the bin!

Here's my first one, which was a bit of an experiment with terror. I enlarged the digi image to cover one half of the base card and then printed another of the same size onto plain white card. I then smudged some black stayzon ink around the edges of the base card and cut out a little piece of the duplicated image. Which I coloured in and mounted onto black mirri card. I coloured them in with ProMarkers; Cocoa, Henna, Cinnamon, Blush, Ivory, Lime Green, Indigo Blue, Cool Grey 5 and Cool Grey 3.

I was hoping for a totally spooky (yet cutesy) card and I think the black and white, with a splash of colour worked sort of... didn't it?

Thanks for stopping by.

Funky Chick

And my final card for today before I go to bed.

This was a lucky find.

I went onto google and typed in 'free children's colouring pages' as I was looking for an image (not used before) for a birthday card for a teenager, thinking Scooby Doo or Spongebob would come up. And I came across this free colouring image by Kenny K no less!!!! Fab!  So, I double checked that it was FREE and then proceeded to print it off and colour it in. I am sooooo pleased how it came out. So of course, I am giving all credit to the fabulous Kenny K for being such a fab artist and all the other credit goes to me. I am loving this card and this image. I think I did an 'okay' job on this one and Isabella loved it when she received it. Ahhhh, that's what making cards is all about... 'knowing that the recipient is chuffed that you spent so much time and effort into making a one-off special card just for her (or him).

Anyway, I hope you like the card and thanks for visiting my blog today.
Hope to see you all again soon.

Remember, the Hodge Podge Shop challenge begins tomorrow, so be sure to pop over and find out how to take part. Hope to see your fab creations.

Take care, my friends

Pinky in Lilac

Here's another card I made earlier in the week. Sorry about my shoddy posting this week, haven't been too good so I am justing getting around to it now and I love this timed posting, you just set it at whatever time you want and it does it all for you.

Anyway, I digress... back to my card.

This image is one of Christy Croll's over at Tiddly Inks... she's called 'Pinky' and I have to say that she's still my favourite image.

I kept the colours in the DP quite bold, yet the image itself is pale and neutral.  I think it makes her stand out more. I just used ProMarkers Cocoa, Cinnamon, Blush, Ivory, Amethyst, Lilac and Bluebell

H-Owling Hallowe'en

Hi girls
As promised, here is my FIRST DT challenge card for the Hodge Podge Blog.

I distressed two different but similarly coloured designer papers buy rubbing a copper ink pad over the top and around the edges. I then mounted both DP onto gold mirri card and then printed off the Hallowe'en Owl (available at Hodge Podge Shop).

I used ProMarkers: Henna, Cocoa, Shale, Primrose Yellow, Canary, Pumpkin and Apricot. I then highlighted certain areas with a gold Sakura Gelly Roll pen.

I added a gold Craftwork Cards sentiment and some orange miniature 'aster' flowers.

Hope you like it and hope you too will take some time to make a card for the Hodge Podge Challenge No1 tomorrow. Good luck.

Pretty in Pink

This card is a belated 18th for URSULA.  Another fab Kenny K Digi Image (I just love these girls, although I do have a fella too, I just hven't put one on a card yet because everytime I print one out, Lewis colours him in!!!).

This image was perfect for Ursula, iPod included etc and I kept the colours quite neutral as she is a genteel girl and very pretty. The bold colours in the DP was enough colour for this card I thought and therefore I think the image stands out all the more.

Coloured with promarkers: blush, ivory, cinnamon, cocoa, denim blue, blossom, ice grey 1 and cool grey 3. Simples!

Added just a few flat paper flowers by Petaloo and a couple of gems. Hope you like her?

Bad Babe

Here's a little number that I created for a colleague at work to give to Katie for her 18th.  I just love these Kenny K digi stamps. This is such an easy one to colour and I really enjoy using all of these images.  I used some scrap DP from my stash. I printed the image and, after colouring her, mounted the image onto black mirri card. I then mounted the lettering to match and stuck it all down.

I used ProMarker pens; blush, bashful, denim blue, black, pastel yellow and canary.

The letters below the image were my freehand, vain attempt at grafitti. I think they're okay. The adhesive numbers are from Tesco.
