Golden Couple

Here is my second Golden Anniversary card.

I made this card with one of Mo Mannings digital images and coloured it with my Promarkers and my Derwent pencils.

I coloured the image first then cut the image square. I had some yellow card off cuts and I ran one of them through the BigShot in a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I then mounted all of the pieces onto the white card base and added some colour coordinated embellishments.

Naughty... but Nice!

Well... a lot has happened since we last spoke.

I am on DAY 13 off not smoking and, since last Tuesday, I have lost 8lbs on the Slimming World diet, despite my eating like a horse! I'm loving it and feeling great.

A lot of people think I am slightly on the mad side dieting AND quitting smoking at the same time, but you know what... having given up smoking previously (in 2000 and putting on weight) I decided not to just quit this time but combine the two, and this time round... fingers crossed, it seems to be working so far. Big pat on the back for moi!

Anyway, back to my card. I was asked by a work colleague to make a Golden Wedding Anniversary card and I decided to make a 'straight' one and a 'humourous' one. The humourous one, which is in this post, I have decided to enter into the latest Passion 4 Promarkers blog challenge.

I used my promarker pens and my Derwent Watercolour pencils and a little Sansodor to blend. I then added some colour coordinated flowers, leaves, pins and ribbon.

Lover's Lane Roses

Hi girls
Another card for you today, this time using the Country Companions 'Lover's Lane' Stamp Set from Docrafts (another of my Crimbo pressies). The stamp set consists of 22 pieces just the same as the Woodland Friends Sets I have and basically you just create your own scene. This is one that I started with last night, but there's going to be a lot more coming, these stamps are a joy to use.

Sometimes, you can buy clear stamps and the stamped image can be blurred or rough edged where the actual clear material they have used is not as firm as it could be for the pressure of stamping. These are spot on for my personal level of pressure that I use when stamping so they're great.


Anyway, here's my card from Lover's Lane, Country Companions.

All Loved Up!

Just another quickie card that I have made tonight for my good friend Nick, from work. He asked me to make him a 2nd Anniversary Card to give to his wife, Amy.

I got the image from google as I wanted a lovely duvvy couple, as he seems like that kinda guy.

Sapphire Wedding Anniversary

Hello again fellow crafters.

My friend Carolyn, asked me to make a card for her parents 45th Sapphire Wedding Anniversary so I put my thinking cap on and, although it doesn't have any Sapphire on it, I hope it will suffice? I tried it with a navy blue background but it just looked odd, so I decided to keep the layout sketch really simple and go for Sepia and Cream with a splash of Green.

Okay, so here's what I did:  Carolyn gave me a photograph of her parents that I scanned and edited to change the colour to Sepia. I then ran the image through my Big Shot with my large scalloped nestabilities. I printed the text directly onto the cardstock. I added some black ribbon (from my stash) to the centre and then mounted the photograph together with the flowers and the flourishes. To finish the card off, I added 1mm cream pearls to each of the scallops (the ones that were visible anyway).

The verse inside the card, reads as follows:

A marriage made in heaven, 
is beautiful and rare.
And brings a life of happiness, 
just like the one you share.
Your trust in one another,
is a very precious thing.
And you deserve a lovely day, 
for all the joy you bring.

Camper Love

I made this card for my friend, Claire, who is celebrating her wedding anniver- sary today. She has just started making cards with her daughter but wasn't having a luck of luck with inspiration so she asked me if I would make this card for her husband Paul. I believe the camper van is a logo of Animal brand clothing, which he loves and she has bought him something for their anniversary with the camper van on it, so this was the perfect image to use.

This is a view of the open easel card. I used the happy anniversary stamp that I have had for ages (I think it's Anita's - sorry, having an elderly moment today with my stamps and they're not currently with me as I am editing my blog at my parents). I'm afraid I cannot remember who made the background paper either, but I bought loads of it at Ally Pally last year! Sarn gave me the stamp and I added a black mirri card doily punch border and also mounted the sentiment and the image onto black mirri card. I then added three adhesive gem flowers.

I think the colours work really well, although I wasn't 100% sure when i started putting it all together, I initially thought that maybe I should have coloured the camper van in green, but I'm glad I chose the blue now. I am really pleased with how it turned out and Claire was over the moon! Another job well done xx

Anniversary Celebrations

Today is my 17th Wedding Anniversary and, although last year I never thought I get here, here I am celebrating 17 years of marriage! I made this card for Steve. The heart shaped image at the top left was cut out from a shop bought 'Forever Friends' card that I received a few years ago and was perfect to use with the heart bear stamp.

I hand drew the hearts around the white border and added some glitter to highlight the heart. The words were hand written and gemstones were added to dot the 'i's'. The heart ribbon is a little gem that I found in a charity shop.

Just the 'Twit-Two' of Us

This card was made using an image kindly given to me by a friend. I'm sorry I don't know who makes them or what they're called, but aren't they cute...? I used one of Katharina's sketches for the layout using red linen cardstock, red mirri card and red heart background paper. Finally I added a strip of red polkadot ribbon and a red polkadot bow to finish.

Anniversary Card

This is an anniversary card for a very special couple. This is some more decoupage designs that I bought from Marij, they are called Toread and Friends. Aren't they too cute??? I don't think I've ever seen these in any local stores so as soon as I saw them I thought I really have to buy these as I might not get the opportunity to get them again, which was when Marij kindly gave me her website address and said I could also purchase them online.

This is a couple of close-up images of the above card so that you can see their faces up close (so sweet) and so that you can see the detail in the background papers aswell. I was just totally smitten with these little cuties, that I would love to find out now from Marij, if these are actually available anywhere as rubber stamps also.

I hope you like these cards, there will definitely be more from Toread in the very near future... believe me... I bought a book-ful of decoupage sheets and although I've never really been a huge fan of all that cutting and delicate snipping, I think that these are definitely worth the effort.

Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby Ahhhhhh

This is a card I made for a friend of a friend's Ruby Anniversary. I drew the Champagne bottle freehand and then coloured it with my Blendable pencils and then added a big ruby stone in the middle of the ribbon. I wrote the Ruby Anniversary writing freehand and then highlighted the Ruby wording with a clear Sakura Jellyroll pen. I also drew the hearts in the background freehand and the writing on the label.

Sweet Memories

This is an Anniversary card that a friend asked me to make for her friend who's celebrating her anniversary soon. I wanted to make something that had the happy couple on the front and I used my lovely new 6x6 papers on the front underneath the main picture which I deckle edged and then added the pearl adhesives and the silver, thinking of you.

Made in Heaven

Anniversary card for Robert and Chrissie. Bella image courtesy of Linda which I coloured with watercolour pencils and added the 'Celebrate' text and the silver 'Happy Anniversary' (by Anita's). Button on Bella's Fella's suit is an adhesive pearl to make it a little bit 3D. The silver/grey cardstock had the glitter diamonds on it when I bought it. Again, I've had it about three years and never used it as it was too nice, but it was worth it for this couple. The 'RC' I cut out manually and mounted onto the same glitter metallic card that I mounted the image to.
