Wedding Invitations

Well, I am pleased to annouce that I have finally (no...FINALLY!) finished making 100 wedding invitations and 100 RSVP cards for a friend of mine. She got married in Cyprus last year and I made a few invitations for that occasion but she wanted me to make some additional cards for her wedding celebration in the UK, in October. She was so pleased when I told her that I had completed them and thankfully she really likes them. I've put a lot of time and hard work into making them, I couldn't post a picture because they haven't been posted yet so watch this space. They were really quite simple to make, just a simple ivory card with two embossed hearts on the front and the words 'a day to celebrate' in silver, stamped on the front below.

I'll post pictures when i know the invitations have gone out. Even though she officially got married last year, I don't want to ruin her second big day in October. Good luck Emma and Richard. Love always

Blog Signature

Thanks for showing me how to create my lovely signature Sarn. Any other tips I need to know about?

Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby Ahhhhhh

This is a card I made for a friend of a friend's Ruby Anniversary. I drew the Champagne bottle freehand and then coloured it with my Blendable pencils and then added a big ruby stone in the middle of the ribbon. I wrote the Ruby Anniversary writing freehand and then highlighted the Ruby wording with a clear Sakura Jellyroll pen. I also drew the hearts in the background freehand and the writing on the label.

Giveaway / Swap Shop!

I am trying to pack all of my stuff up in the hope that I will be able to sell my house quicker if I declutter it and that means packing away and sorting through most of my craft stuff. I have packed away quite a lot of it and have sorted through quite a bit. In my major re-sort I have some stamps and some punches that I have decided I don't use and therefore wondered if anyone out there wanted them or had something to swap them with. I don't want any money for them, perhaps just a little something towards postage and packaging, depending on how many things you want, but if we're swapping, then postage and packaging is free. Above is a picture of the punches I am giving away and below here are the stamps. They have all been used, though some more than others.

Yes... you will notice that one of the stamps is a Penny Black. This is NOT because I have gone off Penny Black...far from it! This stamp is merely because I no longer use him and haven't used him as much as I thought I would.

All I would ask is that you could kindly let me know before late Saturday night as I am taking the lot to a Boot Sale on Sunday morning if there's no interest here.

Don't miss out!!!

Lianne's Leavers' Disco

See how grown up she looks...

Her Leavers' Disco was just for Year 6 students and she had a great time. They all did. I remember most of them from when they were in Infant school so it was quite nice to see how they had all grown up and matured into gorgeous boys and girls. I wish them all well.

It's Official...

Well, it's official. Lianne has now left Junior School. My beautiful 10 year old daughter (soon to be 11 on Saturday) has finally left Junior School and is growing up quicker than I care to mention. I'm not sure I was ready for this, as I was very tearful saying goodbye to all her friends and teachers on Friday, a bit more than she was I think. She shed lots of tears and when I went to meet her from school to collect her things, they were all in floods.

Myself and Lewis waited by the gate with her and her friends and two lovely big white limousines collected them all and took them on their hour long journey around various places they wanted to visit and then dropped them off at the park where me and Lewis met up with them a few hours later. They were all still crying as we all said our goodbyes and promises to keep in touch. Brought back a lot of memories for me when I left school, although I remember leaving Secondary School more than I remember leaving Junior School. Still, times change and I hope she makes a whole lot of new friends in September, and remembers the ones she has left behind.

Sorry I haven't been around for a while, I have been so busy making wedding invitations and sorting Lianne out these past few weeks, I don't know where all the time has gone...

Keep in touch, Fae xxx

Induction Day...

Last night was Year 6 parents evening at Lianne's new secondary school. We listened to the Headmistress go through her talk and then we purchased Lianne's new school uniform. When we got home she couldn't wait to try it on and although we had purchased the EXTRA SMALL size it still seemed to drown her... ha ha ha!!

Anyway, last night was a preparation for today, as today was Secondary School Induction Day for Lianne and most other Year 6 students in Hertfordshire. I don't know who was more nervous, me or Lianne, when I dropped her off in the School's main hall this morning. She said she was part nervous, part excited and I think I felt a little of that too. She kissed me goodbye and ran into the Hall to meet her other school mates who are moving on with her. As I left, a couple of Year 6's were crying and I felt a bit upset for them. But Lianne seemed happy enough when I left her and as I continued my journey onto work I couldn't help but feel a little sad too...my baby is growing up!

At the end of her school day, I waited anxiously in the Hall with the other Year 6 parents and the Hall doors opened and out they came, all smiling and laughing...and suddenly there she was! BEAMING! Her day had been brilliant. She had made some new friends and couldn't wait for September to get here!

Flowers and Gemstones

This is my little 'Pinky Joy' again, from Penny Black. He is definitely one of my favourite images and I enjoy finding different ways to colour him in and different colour schemes to use.

This time I have made a yellow basecard with a flappy bit with some fab vellum background paper (sorry, can't remember who makes it as I've already hacked loads of it off, including the bit with the name on) and threaded a yellow polka-dot ribbon through to secure it when closed. I then added the image to the top of the ribbon and added several flowers to 'fill' the front up. Note: I used an odd number Sarn, he hee hee xxx

4 Rory

This card was designed for a friend, Charlotte, who left work recently to have a baby. She had a nine pound baby boy and they've called him 'RORY', so this is for little Rory. Mum and baby are doing well so I'm told and I used one of the Penny Black images kindly sent to me by Sarn. I added Rory's name down the right hand side of the card and partly cut out the letters to frame it. The background paper is called 'Baby Boy Star' and is by Pebbles Inc. I then added some flowers and some coloured, adhesive gemstones which were my latest bargain. For just £1 in Poundland you get a huge sheet of three different colours, with 120 different sized gemstones (40 stones of each colour - 4 different sizes). WOW!!!

Lovely in Lilac

This is a colour scheme I know will appeal to Shaz (MadStamper). The Penny Black image (not sure what it's called) was sent to me by Sarn which I watercoloured and added glitter to. I then mounted the embossed lilac card and the stamped image onto gloss black cardstock and then mounted again onto lilac base card. I then added the black polkadot ribbon (by far my favourite and makes me cry everytime I cut it) and then added the flowers, brads, metallic pearls and a scalloped circle with a Happy Birthday greeting in silver.

Con-grad-ulations!

I was asked to make a graduation card for a friend's niece. I think this stamp is called GraduBella (although don't quote me on that, it was part of a selection of images sent by my friend, Linda). I added sime greenery to the bouquet and watercoloured her gown so that it wasn't TOO black. I added some ribbon and her name. Some flowers and some glitter to the roses. I have also added a tassle to the spine of the card (although this is not visible in the photo). I also added some glitter to the collar of her gown, just to add some glitz. The 'congratulations' is from a clear design collection from Hero Arts.

Buzy Buzzie Bumble-Bee

Well, I just thought I would share a little card I made with you. I'm not sure who makes it as it was part of a set of miscellaneous images sent to me by a friend, he's well cute though. The card base is pre-printed, with the gold embossed words 'just to say', from Lakeland. He's just so cute I left him simple and just watercoloured him and mounted him on linen embossed yellow and black cardstock to match his body adding just red, green and grey colours to the rest of the image. I also added a bit of colour and sparkle with a Sakura Jellyroll pen on his tongue only.

Splashin' Good Fun

This cute little Whipper Snapper fella is just adorable. I added a small snippet of background paper and used the lovely bubbles stamp that Sarn kindly gave me with some Pearlescent Sky Blue BRILLIANCE Pigment Ink. Added some flowers and Zoomz, a message on a scalloped circle and some ribbon, together with some silver elasticated thread which I re-used from a christmas card. At first I thought it might be a bit crowded but it's grown on me and the proud new parents of a new baby boy should be receiving it shortly.

Hope you like it,
Fae xx

A Sigh of Relief...

Just thought I'd let you all know, Lianne was offered a place at a School today that I am really chuffed about! Thank you all for your support, kind wishes and emails, it's been lovely to know that you are all thinking about me and that you have been praying, keeping fingers crossed (and everything from the sounds of it) as well as sending positive thoughts and best wishes etc.

Thank you all, it's so nice to know that I have such great friends, some of whom barely know me, but thanks all the same. I can open a bottle of wine or two now, and sit back and wait for my lovely daughter to come home so that I can share some good news with her too, she's been waiting for it a long time and I'm so glad that I can finally share some with her.

Thanks again,
Fae xx

Appeal News...

Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days guys and girls... I had to get Lianne's things packed as she went off to the Isle of Wight on a school trip yesterday and won't be home until Friday, I hope she's having the time of her life and has left all her troubles here behind her.

She did brilliantly on her Race for Life on Sunday morning, she completed the 5k and was a little worn out at the end of it all, but she was very privileged to have taken part and has a medal to prove she completed the challenge. I will take a photograph of her when she returns from her school trip as there was far too little time to do it Sunday evening, as I was preparing for her trip.

Other news is... I got a telephone call from the Headmaster at the school where I work yesterday evening and... unfortunately, my appeal was unsuccessful. I cried for about an hour but I think I am over the worst of it. Although I desperately need a cuddle from Lianne as I am missing her so badly, didn't think I would as she has been away from home before, by going away to America with my mum and nan for a couple of years running, but this time it feels different. I just miss her so much.

I haven't given up on the school front, I am keeping her name on all of the continued interest lists and hope to receive some good news soon. Keeping my chin up and my thoughts positive (it's the only way I can cope!)

Thanks for all of your support.
