Luck o' the Irish

Hi girls (and fellow crafters)
I can finally make cards again (or rather use my scalpel and stand for a limited period of time - I like to stand when I am crafting... weird I know, but hey it's my preference) so I have put together some of the images I have been colouring in while I have been recovering from my op and I have made some cards with them that I thought I would share with you.

The first one I am going to show is a card I have made for Karens Doodles Challenge Blog and this week's challenge is to 'Go GREEN'. So I thought what better time to make my good friend Kathy a Happy St Patrick's Day card.

Here's what I did:
I covered my white base card in a little green DP and then cut a circle in the centre using my new circle cutter.

On the inside of the card, I covered the circle with acetate, and then cut a larger circle into some holographic mirri card to use as the back (and the seal) of my shaker. I then went around the circle with foam pads and added gold stars and silver hearts to the 'hole'. I then attached the holographic circle to the foam pads and pressed down firmly.

Now it was time to finish off the outside of the card. So I used Karen's Doodles Lucky Leprechaun and coloured him in the following promarkers: Pear, Grass and Forest Green. A little Cinnamon for his cane and Pumpkin and Cinnamon blended together for his beard and his eyebrows. Then I got my gold Sakura Gelly Roll pen and coloured his buttons and buckles with it.

I cut around the image leaving a thin white border and mounted it to the front of the acetate with foam pads. Hope you like him, I think this image can't help but make you smile?

Thanks for stopping by, hugs xxx

TWINS!!!

Hi girls,
Just a couple of little ones today.

I made these cards for a good friend of mine, Antonina, who has twin boys, Gianni and Louis, who celebrated their 8th birthday on Friday last week.  I know that she has received them now, so I can post them onto my blog.

The digital images are from Karens Doodles and I have coloured them with ProMarkers: Denim Blue, Forest Green, Cocoa, Blush and Ivory.

This first card, for Louis, was coloured simply and added a little dotty background. Then I mounted the image onto black mirri card and then mounted it again onto a scrap piece of My Minds Eye 'Dotty Stack' designer papers.

The wording was placed beneath the image when I selected which image I wanted to print.

The second card, for Gianni, was coloured in exactly the same way, well... they are TWINS... and mounted in the same way only I used a different Karens Doodles image and different DP also from the My Minds Eye 'Dotty Stack'.

Although they are twins, I am sure that they have very different personalities, so that's why I wanted to make their cards similar but different. Hope Antonina and the boys like them.

Hope YOU like them too.

Thanks for stopping by,

Pro Ball

Here is card number... oh I've lost count... Whateva!!! It's the LAST one today!  Well I did say I had been busy. But I've been sitting down, so I've still been good (Claire).

I made this one for Karen's Doodles blog challenge. Which was to make a card using Orange, Yellow, Lime Green and a Splash of Blue (oh and, of course, one of Karen's Doodles).  I think I passed. Although there might be a little bit more than a splash of blue!

I merged two of Karen's images together and printed them off and then coloured it in with watercolour pencils and sponged some blue into the back ground to break up the white area.

I then added the 'Summer day's designer paper to the white card stock (sorry, can't remember who made it as this was only a little piece of the original 12 x 12 paper and the name is no longer visible. I then added a few buttons in the same colours to finish it off.

I was going to give this card to a friend of mine who has 'twin' boys when it's their birthday. Which isn't for a while yet, so who knows... maybe I will... maybe I won't. We shall see???

Thanks for letting me bore the pants off of you today with all my cards. I don't think I have EVER posted so many in one single day?? But yes, I have been a busy girl. Going to sleeps now, to dream about what I can create today... TODAY HAS BEEN A GREAT DAY and I want to thank you all for your words of encouragement and support.  Thanks girls x

For Caitlin

My good friend Steve, who works at the same school as I, and his wife Sarah, had a beautiful baby girl this morning at 2.45am. They have called her Caitlin.

The image is from 'Karen's Doodles', please see the link on my blog if you would like to view and purchase any of her lovely creations.  Sadly, this is the last card I will be making before going into hospital tomorrow as I just don't have any more time but I will be taking loads of images into hospital with me to colour etc to while away the hours, the loooooonnnnnnnng drawn out hours before my release.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you like the card?

More Leavers Cards

Well, I have been a very busy girl today. Having finally slept after arranging Lianne's birthday party and sorting everything out for that, with mum's help, thanks mum! I have finally been able to get on with the many leavers cards I have had to make.  As it is our last week of term this week, THIS weekend was my only chance to get them done in time for everyone at work to sign them.

Here are ALL the leavers cards I have made this evening (in between watching the most boring game of the World Cup 2010), only watched it because I had SPAIN in the sweepstake at work! And I won...wahhooooo result!

Anyway...here are the cards:

And yes...you did read correctly, I have been making these cards all day and my poor hubby settled only for a cheese and ham sandwich for his dinner! Bless him!

All of the images (apart from Cliffy) are from Karen's Doodles, digital images. They are all so lovely and so many to choose from. be sure to pop over and give her a visit as she currently has a buy 3 get 1 free offeer on all her images. What a great excuse to get introduced to digi images (or just buy more if you're addicted to them like me).

Hope you liked the cards, thanks for popping by.
Please be sure to pop back and see me again soon. Thanks and hugs, Fae xxx

Lucky Leprechaun

Well, I have made a new friend, Karen at Karen's Doodles. Except their not doodles they're amazing digitial stamps and little mini works of art and there are so many different characters to choose from I have just literally gone bonkers for them. I have seen her images around for a while but didn't know where to source them and then I came across her site just by accident and have been an almost permanent resident ever since.

Anyway, I purchased this rather lively leprechaun from her this week and thought he would be perfect for Jan's A4 'Good Luck' card, as she is leaving the school, where I work, at the end of this term for pastures new.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my cards. Please come again soon.
