Goodbye Summer

Right, here I am, hi girls.

I thought that now I have a few Tiddly Inks digi stamps in my collection, that I would take the plunge and enter one of their blog challenges. This week the challenge is 'goodbye summer'. "hmmm...okay then...?" she says with a frown. How can I do this, with the stamps that I have got? Not that I wouldn't revel in the chance to buy more, but I went a bit mad in Hobbycraft this morning and bought a whole load of patterned papers (Steve would kill me if he knew how much...so I bribed Lewis to keep his mouth firmly shut with lots of nice things too! He wants to set up a card making business with me...bless him!). Anyway, fifty squid lighter in my purse (Shhhh) and I decided to use one of the images I already have.

Because Hallowe'en and Autumn are my favourite holiday/season of the year, I thought I would go for a Hallowe'en themed birthday (as there are a few in October in my family) and this is what I came up with.

'But what has that got to do with saying goodbye to Summer...?' I hear you all cry. Well... She is a bit gothy looking and has the hallowe'eny theme going on and the stars on the mirri black card indicate the whole early sunset and dark auntumnal skies etc... see there is a logic to my creative madness. I decided to go with the whole pink/red/black theme as that is my thing at the moment. I love these colours.

Here is what I used:
Black mirri card for the base card. The diamond patterned designer paper is from the 'Madly in Love Stack' from DCWV Inc and has some lovely glitter embossed papers included in the stack too... couldn't resist! And more black mirri card on top which I martha stewarted with my stars border punch. I then added the ribbon (an ebay find) the image from Tiddly Inks (of course), which I coloured with my promarkers; ivory, blush, berry red, admiral red, cool grey 3, ice grey 1 and black. I then added some gold sakura jelly roll pen on the crown and her whatever the hell that's called she's holding and some white highlights. To finish I simply added a CWC birthday sentiment, some small 1mm gemstones and pearls and some flowers (again sourced on ebay).

Hope you like the card and thanks for stopping by.
Hugs, Fae xxx
