Busy, busy, busy...

Hi guys, girls and fellow crafty peeps.

I apologise that I haven't been on line for absolutely ages, I've been renovating my late Grandmothers' house AND it's finally finished AND we have some tenants in, who are absolutely over-the-moon with it.  I hope that they will be as happy in the house as my grandparents were.  They have a young baby so it'll be nice, I'm sure, to have some laughter in there after so long of being empty.  Anyway, it's all done.  Now back to some crafting.

Although I haven't been posting, I have still been making loads in my lovely, calm, craft room.  I'll post some pictures over the next few days, but in the meantime, here are a few I have made today.

My friend, Jane, is 50 on Tuesday next week, (St Patrick's Day) and it is also going to be her wedding day as she will be marrying her lifelong partner, Karen.

Hope the day is extra, extra special with double celebrations for you Jane.

The image is from the Sweet Tooth collection at Tiddly Inks, and is called 'Let Us Eat Cake'.  She can be found here.

The stamped sentiment is from Hero Arts, but I'm not sure who the papers are made by I'm afraid.  They are from my overflowing paper stash.  The card is 8" x 8".

I coloured the image with Copic Pens and added a few embellishments to finish the card off.

This next card was one I made for my sister-in-law's birthday.  I just love the way the colours worked out on this one as she loves yellow and blue and together I think they work really well.

Papers are again from a well overstocked pile of mish mash papers that have no markings whatsoever, to indicate who made them, so I apologise if they are something you would have been interested in purchasing.

The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and I am entering her into the latest 'Anything Mo Goes' challenge.  She is called 'Bella Carrying the Cake' and can be found here.

Well, these are just two of quite a few I have made over the past few months, but as I said, its my first time blogging in a while so I will need to get back into the swing of things SLLLLLLOOOOOOOWLY, so please be patient with me.

A big thank you to everyone who has emailed me to make sure that I am still alive and kicking, it was nice to know I was being missed and thanks also to my followers who kept popping back regularly to see if I posted anything new. I promise to post a few new things each day for the next couple of days to make it worth your while.

Thanks guys x

The Red Velveteen Rabbit

Hello fellow crafters
I trust you are having a pleasant evening whatever you are doing?

I just wanted to share a little something with you that I have been working on this evening, while watching an old Doctor Who episode with my son, Lewis.  I really miss David Tennant, although I do like Matt Smith as well.  We were watching the episode where the Doctor and Martha go back in time to visit William Shakespeare at the Globe Theatre, called 'The Shakespeare Code' and my son showed me where he sat when he recently visited the theatre in London, with his school.  Bless him, he's really excited.

Anyway, I think I might have been a little bit inspired whilst watching as I came up with this dark and ever so slightly, eerie card. Maybe it also has something to do with Halloween coming up too. Who knows??? Anyway, I really quite like it.

The digital image is from the Saturated Canary, she's called Honey and she can be found here.

The background papers are from DCWV The Madly in Love (12x12cm paper) Stack but the red paper is just a piece of scrap that I cut to size and ran through the BigShot with my Cuttlebug embossing 'Spots' folder.

I then added some ribbon that I cut into strips and stuck behind the main image and added a Craftwork Cards sentiment to finish it off.

I hope you like my card and thank you for taking the time to visit.

Thanks for stopping by

Starla

Hi there, once more I return this evening (this is the last time, I promise...) I have made one more card that I would like to share with you.

This is not being entered into any blog competitions or blog hops etc. its just something I have made this evening for a friends birthday while I was watching TV.  I plucked two 'ideas' from my Inspiration Jar and they said
  1. Use two colours from a paper pad that you haven't used before (even if it looks like they wouldn't go together); and
  2. Use a digital stamp that you have purchased in the last month.  I recently purchased this stamp 'Starla' from the Saturated Canary.
I hope you like my card and thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. Your visits are much appreciated.  If you like or dislike my card, please feel free to leave a comment, all comments are gratefully received.

Good night, for now... until tomorrow, when I will return with more inspiration for you (I hope).

Fifty Shades

Hi 'fifty shades' fans. I thought I would share this little card I made earlier with you all. I just love this image.

It's a digital stamp called 'Grey Tie' from Saturated Canary and you can find it here.

I have read all of the Fifty Shades' books and I just think this would be a cool card for a male or a female.

I hope you like the card and thanks again, for stopping by to visit my craft blog.

Enjoy.

Big Girl

Hello Peeps
Another card that I have made for Lianne's 15th Birthday, next week, that I thought I would enter for Mo's DP2 Challenge #144 Hugs 'n' Kisses.

This is such a lovely image from Mo Manning over at www.mosdigitalpencil.com, she's called 'Big Shoes' and you can purchase it here.

The background papers used are from a paper stack called BLOSSOM from Grace Taylor, which was a recent purchase from Hobbycraft. The sentiment used is from Create with TLC and was a digital freebie.

Thanks for stopping by.

Marvellous Mothers

Another card that I have made for a work colleague, for Mother's Day is using a Digi Stamp Boutique image.

The background paper is leftover scrap and I'm really sorry, but I cannot for the life of me, remember who created it.

Anyway, I printed the Digi Stamp Boutique image off twice and decoupaged the top half of the image. I added some ribbon to the base of the card and coloured the image with my Copic Pens and Derwent watercolour pencils.

I hope that you like this card and I thank you once more, for popping by and visiting me today.

Cards for Girls

I made these cards for two young girls birthdays.  A work colleague wanted something that wasn't too girlie but also wasn't too grown up. So I decided to make cards with their names which I sketched out roughly before committing to a solid outline (I wasn't happy with the 'Z') and then added the new Wryn digital images from Tiddly Inks. I just love these girls.

The whole new and very gorgeous collection of girls can be found here.

Christy croll is such a fabulous artist, enjoy looking around her shop, there's something for everyone. Not to mention tutorials and inspiration from the Gallery.

Hope you liked my cards and thanks again for stopping by.

Sticky Fingers

House Mouse 'Donut Bliss 2002'
Last card of the day... Male maybe, female... definitely.

Anyway, whether it's a male card or not, I had great fun making it.

First, I stamped the image onto plain white card and then coloured in Muzzy the Mouse with my Promarkers and coloured Derwent Watercolour pencils. I didn't bother blending them with the Sansodor as the finished result looked okay as it was.  I then mounted the image onto peach coloured card stock and added some folded peach gingham ribbon pieces (keeping to the 'odd number' rule).  I then mounted that onto brown coloured card stock (although it looks black in the picture...sorry).

I used double sided sticky tape to then add the whole thing to the scalloped base card stock and then inked up a Hero Arts clear sentiment, which I stamped straight onto the base card in the bottom, right corner. Hope you like it? And, I do think I could still give this to a man, despite the peachiness of the colour scheme. Once the whole thing was put together, I then added some 'glossy accents' to the glaze of the doughnut and left it to dry flat.

TIP: Always leave glossy accents somewhere flat to dry (preferably overnight), the slightest dip or uneveness of the surface it is left on, will result in the liquid 'pooling' and the final result won't be as impressive.

Anyway, I hope you like my card and thank you, once again, for stopping by and visiting me today.
See you again soon, I hope.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Mum's Birthday

Hello again
Here's the upload I promised.

This is a card I made for a friend at work, Jane. It was her mother's birthday and she wanted an 8" by 8" card so I had quite a bit of space to fill.

The background paper is from a bumper pack from Craftword Cards and so was the greeting attachment. The ribbons were from my stash (god knows where I got them as I now have three rather large bags full of ribbons) and I cannot for the life of me, remember where the image was from either (sorry). I coloured the image with my promarkers and cut the letters out by hand before running them through a Cuttlebug folder on my BigShot. I then mounted the image and added some card candi.
