Betty Belfrey

Hello again, I have a confession to make... I'm a digi-holic!

I've bought some more digi stamps and I think I need help!!! ;o(

This is two of the stamps I bought this morning, from Tiddly Inks, that I have merged together and I couldn't print them off fast enough.  Although I have coloured this image in and it's finished, I haven't added it to a card yet but I just had to show it to you before doing anything else with it as I am sooooo pleased with it.

It's going to be a hallowe'en card for one of  my very best friends and, like I said, I just had to show it to you post colouring.

Here's what I did: I merged the two stamps 'gothic window' and 'betty belfrey' together. I then coloured it with ProMarkers; Ice Grey 1, Cool Grey 3, Indigo Blue, Forest Green, Cocoa,  Henna, Amethyst, Ivory and Blush and then used my white pencil to highlight the trees and white Sakura Jelly Roll highlighter for the rest.

I hope you like it...?

What was I saying yesterday about...

best laid plans and all that???

Got the kids up bright and early this morning. Breakfast, wash, brushing of teeth, getting dressed in smart new school clothes and into the car... da de da de dah!

Dropped Lianne off at school at 8am (her school starts at 8.15am) and then drove Lewis to his school. Got to our usual parking space in plenty of time and sat in the car for fourty-five minutes just around the corner from the gates. At 8.50am we decided it was time to walk around and then I suddenly thought to myself, 'where are all the children and all the parked cars?' Doh! No... doh is not enough but I can't put into words how idiotic I felt at that moment in time... the school gates were locked! It's an INSET DAY! Not only did they not go in Thursday and Friday last week due to Inset Days but the teachers have decided to have today aswell.

What a numbty! I told you I would end up with an expression the same as the robots, only I didn't expect it to be through my own stupidity!

Enjoy your day, whatever it brings you ;o)

Moon Dust and Fairy Wings

Here's another Tiddly Inks image that I can't seem to leave alone at the moment. She's just so adorable.

To a white 15cm x 15cm base card I added the MME Designer Paper, then I mounted the image onto black mirri card and wrapped this gorgussssss yellow polkadot ribbon (part of my stash that I purchased in Norfolk recently...poor Steve) around it.

I then coloured the image with ProMarkers: Ice Grey 1, Cool Grey 3, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Ivory, Blush, Yellow and Pastel Blue.  I then just covered her wings in Stickles 'Moon Dust' to complete her.

Hope you like my card, here's a close up.I think I might have over done it slightly with the highlighter pen, but I think it's passable regardless.

Thanks for stopping by.

Green, Green, Grass

Hi girls, another offering (or two) for you.

Lewis had a football game this morning, so while he and Steve were at the game, I got busy in my crafty area and make this card.  Another image from Tiddly Inks, couldn't resist this lovely robot.  How cute is he?

Have to do loads of ironing this evening as Lianne and Lewis are back to school tomorrow...phew and therefore, won't have time to make any more cards today! But tomorrow is another day and I'm thinking about a whole day of crafting in peace and quiet methinks?  Not saying anything else, you know what they say about best laid plans etc etc... (keeping shhhhtum... not another word from me).

Used Forest Green, Pear Green, Lime Green and Soft Green Promarkers (yes, I know I'm not a fan of green but this only required these colours...okay?). I then mounted it ontl white base cardstock, covered in my MME designer papers and then added the buttons and screw heads (from my stash).

Hope you like him, I think he's really cute. I think this is how I will look tomorrow when the kids have gone back to school... dazed and confused and glad that the summer holidays are FINALLY over! Ha ha ha, love you children... no really I do... missing you already?

Thansk for stopping by.

Indian Summer ???

Hello peeps.

Just a quick post from me for today. Been colouring in a Mo's Digital Pencil image since last night and I was really pleased with how it turned out.  I just had to add it to a card so that I could share it with you.  The sketch was a really simple one but I thought that it was all this image needed really. Nothing too fussy, just clean and crisp.

Anyway, I coloured in the image with my ProMarkers' Ivory, Blush, Demin Blue, Pastel Blue, Forest Green, Lime Green, Pear Green, Cocoa, Cinnamon and Sandstone and then just dotted the grass around the dog (isn't he a cutie).

Used my back mirri card as the base card again and then added some of my 'My Minds Eye, Bright Dots Collection papers (new papers... oooooer. No, still shhhh, I have definitely got away with it...YAY!) and mounted that onto the base card after I added a length of black stitched ribbon.

And that as they say is that... hope you like it?

Thanks for stopping by. Hugs, Fae xxx

Does this colour reflect my mood???

As apposed to "Does my bum look big in this?"

Hi girls
What happened to the sun???

Thought I would do another, slightly darker card again and I love this little goth girl by Christy Croll at Tiddly Inks. Rather than do the usual black, red and pink, I thought I would go for lilacs, greens and black for a change and I think it works rather well together. This is another of the fabulous sheets I bought yesterday (still Shhhh, I think I got away with it! But only because I hid them all after spending most of the afternoon 'stroking' them all) and it broke my heart having to cut this one up, but I still have another sheet....hmmmm [grinning like a Cheshire cat].] ;o)

Anyway, this is using the same TI image as before but with the new colours. I'm afraid I used so many colours that I cannot remember them all but I think the main ones were: Ivory, Blush, Lime Green, Soft Green, Yellow, Pastel Yellow, Ice Grey 1, Cool Grey 3, Bluebell, Amethyst and Lilac (and of course, my trusty white highlighter).

The background paper is embossed and covered in glitter, which is what makes it so gorgusssssss and I cut out two of the little hearts from the leftover scrap (ugh... what a horrible word to use for something so beautiful), I meant to say from the little remaining paper that I couldn't possibly have used elsewhere, there...that's better, and mounted them with foam pads along the edge of the image. I mounted the image onto the black mirri card as before and this time used by scalloped dotty MS punch along the bottom edge and added two purple ribbons. I then just simply used dots to create a backdrop for her using the colours I had used on the main image. Et voila! A birthday card suitable for any teenager going through her early menopause (much like Lianne is now...ha ha ha!)

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Goodbye Summer

Right, here I am, hi girls.

I thought that now I have a few Tiddly Inks digi stamps in my collection, that I would take the plunge and enter one of their blog challenges. This week the challenge is 'goodbye summer'. "hmmm...okay then...?" she says with a frown. How can I do this, with the stamps that I have got? Not that I wouldn't revel in the chance to buy more, but I went a bit mad in Hobbycraft this morning and bought a whole load of patterned papers (Steve would kill me if he knew how much...so I bribed Lewis to keep his mouth firmly shut with lots of nice things too! He wants to set up a card making business with me...bless him!). Anyway, fifty squid lighter in my purse (Shhhh) and I decided to use one of the images I already have.

Because Hallowe'en and Autumn are my favourite holiday/season of the year, I thought I would go for a Hallowe'en themed birthday (as there are a few in October in my family) and this is what I came up with.

'But what has that got to do with saying goodbye to Summer...?' I hear you all cry. Well... She is a bit gothy looking and has the hallowe'eny theme going on and the stars on the mirri black card indicate the whole early sunset and dark auntumnal skies etc... see there is a logic to my creative madness. I decided to go with the whole pink/red/black theme as that is my thing at the moment. I love these colours.

Here is what I used:
Black mirri card for the base card. The diamond patterned designer paper is from the 'Madly in Love Stack' from DCWV Inc and has some lovely glitter embossed papers included in the stack too... couldn't resist! And more black mirri card on top which I martha stewarted with my stars border punch. I then added the ribbon (an ebay find) the image from Tiddly Inks (of course), which I coloured with my promarkers; ivory, blush, berry red, admiral red, cool grey 3, ice grey 1 and black. I then added some gold sakura jelly roll pen on the crown and her whatever the hell that's called she's holding and some white highlights. To finish I simply added a CWC birthday sentiment, some small 1mm gemstones and pearls and some flowers (again sourced on ebay).

Hope you like the card and thanks for stopping by.

New Mythical Beasts

To relieve some of the boredom in our household today, I decided to challenge the children to create a new mythical creature.

Lewis gave up after two minutes and drew his dad instead (well...he is sort of a mythical creature) and Lianne refused to allow me to photograph hers, so I thought I would share my new mythical creature with you all instead.  I have decided to call it a 'Droggone' - part dragon, part dog!

I have only sketched it in pencil so I apologise if the photograph isn't as clear as it could be, but the children liked it and Lewis wants to put it on his bedroom wall.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Faerie Fae 2

Well, having discovered that my mother has been sneaky peeking a look at my blog BEFORE her birthday, i decided not to post this card until TODAY (mother!!!).

Having posted the cards from both my dad and my children, I decided to keep with the fairy theme that I used on my dad's card and use this other image, also called Fae (from Tiddly Inks).

Here's what I did:

Promarkers used were: Grass; Lime Green, Cinnamon, Cocoa, Ivory and Blush. I then used some free papers from My Minds Eye (Card Making and Papercraft Magazine), a sentiment from Craftwork Cards, some metal flowers that I bought in a craft shop in Norfolk and some paper Prima flowers. I also added some Lime metallic Sukura Jelly Roll on her shoes and for the stars. Hope you like it???

Thanks for stopping by.
