With Sympathy

Hi, thanks for stopping by and visiting me again today.

A friend, Jane, in my office, lost her Brother-in-Law at the beginning of this week. The news of his death was a big shock as he seemed fine over the Christmas and New Year period, and to make matters worse, he died on the 1 year Anniversary of their father's death!!!

So I made a little card from myself and the other staff in my office to give her, so that she would know that we were thinking of her and her family at this sad time. 

Also, Wendy, also from my office, has had to go to Great Yarmouth, as her mother took ill on Thursday morning and got the call to go up there to be with her. She has been ill for a while and has been in hospital on a number of occasions during the past year, but fortunately, has pulled through and recovered each time. We are thinking of you Wendy and wish your mother a speedy recovery and hope that she will be back home soon.

Sympathy...

My friend Claire, asked me to make her a sympathy card over the weekend, as sadly, her friend had just passed away. She wanted me to make her a sympathy card with Eeyore on it as, I believe, Eeyore was one of her favourite characters. This was tough for me because how do you make a sympathy card with a Winnie the Pooh character on it, NOT look like a birthday card?  Anyway, I mulled it over and played with a few backgrounds and then I finally came up with this...

The card inside simply reads... 'With Deepest Sympathy'

I hope she likes it.

A Little Sympathy

This is just a really simple Sympathy card that I made for my box of cards that I like to keep as a back up at home so that if something like an unexpected birthday or a friend falls ill and needs a 'get well card', I always have a spare one at home that I can just write on and post rather than have to make one from scratch.

Anyway, this is just a really simple card that has a white base card and I ran a piece of marbelled pink cardstock through the Big Shot in a Cuttlebug embossing folder and mounted onto the card. I then just added the sentiment in the bottom right corner. Should be just right to let someone know I am thinking of them in their hour of need and also to let them know that I care.

Deepest Sympathies

I don't usually make many of these cards, but I thought I should keep a spare one in my little stash, given that one of my neighbours recently passed away. So I made this one with my new Lavina stamps, they're perfect and look great with the glitter on them.

Sad news...

I have some sad news... my neighbour, John, was sadly found passed away on Friday afternoon (they think he may have died on Thursday morning). He lived alone since his wife died, six or seven years ago (I can't be sure exactly) but he has missed her everyday since her passing.

He met her when they were teenagers (childhood sweethearts) and when he came back from his services in the war, he married her and they truly were together until her death parted them.

He was a lovely man, very lonely and chatty and although it wasn't always convenient to stop and chat, all of the neighbours found time for him. I sincerely hope that his wife was waiting for him and that they are now reunited... painfree and happy. Rest in Peace John, you will never be forgotton.
