Heather's 70th Birthday Card

My friend Heather, is celebrating her 70th birthday on 21st December. This is the card I made for her.

I tried another new technique, I think it's called the FLIP FLAP card or something similar. Not actually as tricky as it looks. Although I would like to make the card a bit larger so I'm going to try and make up my own dimensions as this turned out A5 (and those who know me know I prefer 15cm x 15cm cards or A4). Definitely too small for me, but Heather liked it as I made her open it on Thursday evening so that I could see her face when she saw it.

Murder Mystery Evening

Steve and I were invited to a friends Murder Mystery Evening on Thursday. The theme was The Mystery of Giza. We had to dress up, as Hercule Poirot was investigating three mysterious deaths and this was all taking place in Egypt. So the theme was Egyptian. Steve's character was Dr Robert Ames and I was Femi Ati (an Egyptian Nurse). We all had a really good evening and it turned out that STEVE was the MURDERER. We left the party at midnight and eventually got home at 1.20am due to the snow that was coming down in buckets. It is usually only a 45 minute drive from Aylesbury to home, so I guess we didn't do too badly.

Christmas is Coming...

YAY! Christmas is coming and the black and silver tree IS UP!!! We decorated the tree with silver and black baubles and added some silver beads. Stuck on the fairy lights and hey presto! It's Chrisssssssssssssssssstmas!!!

I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait.
Happy Christmas to everyone who visits my blog and everyone who is still to visit and a
Happy New Year 2010 to all...

Lazy Days

Another digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil. I made the back- ground with a plate and cut the scallops at the bottom by hand. I do like this image (a lot!) as it reminds me of Lewis and one of our dogs).

Have a MICE Christmas

I can post this card to my blog now that I have snail-mailed it to the recipient. Hopefully it will arrive in the post before she see's it on here. It looks much better in the flesh than this picture is doing it justice. I had the glittered numbers that I had purchased from Tesco and I made the letters myself following the same font as the numbers and then coloured them with glitter. The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil which I cut out and mounted once I had coloured it with my ProMarker pens. I then added the background paper before mounting it. It really does look much better than it looks in the photo.

Click on the image to see a larger version. I haven't compressed it so that you can see it in more detail.

Forever in Pink

Made this forever friends card a while ago but I don't think I have had five minutes to upload it to my blog yet (or at least I don't think I have - apologies if it's already on here somewhere). The lovely spotty background paper was mounted onto black cardstock and I also mounted the image onto black cardstock and then coloured in the image with brown and pink ProMarkers and then added some clear glaze to give it some definition. I added the sentiment (bought ages ago, and only just rediscovered).

Why do we buy things only to put them somewhere and not find them again for an age afterwards? Not that I mind, it's like finding a whole new stash once a week... YAY FOR THAT!

Thank Y'Owl

Here's another version of Dustin Pike's owl. This owl is just too cute. I made the back- ground myself by drawing 'love heart' leaves and then colouring in the background green and colouring in the leaves with my Promarker pens. I then printed the owl image (digital image freebie) and then coloured him in and cut him out. I then mounted him with foam pads and added a little sentiment to his feet.

Christmas Baubles

A christmas bauble shaker card.

I haven't really been in the mood for card making this week, after losing Ali on Monday, but here's a Christmas shaker card that I have made. Nothing exceptional but I am still rather pleased with it considering.

I made the black 'frame' by cutting out a piece of black cardstock and then used by nestabilities and big shot to die cut the section from the middle. I then mounted some acetate behind the cut out and drew the bauble freehand, which I then coloured black and added the swirls and spots with a green metallic sakura pen. I added some foam pads around the edges of the picture and then put some micro glitter inside and then added the frame to the top. Et voila!! Added the ribbon to finish and some white faux stitching.

Sweet Dreams Ali

Ali, our 12 year old Staffi, has just gone on her last journey to the vet's. We have decided it's time to put her to sleep as the tumour that has been growing inside of her is giving her pain now and so the decision has been made. We all love you Ali and hope that you meet all our other pets that have been waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge.

God bless Ali, sweet dreams.
Love Fae, Steve, Lewis and Lianne xxxx

We will miss you.

Neverending Cards

This is my first attempt at making a never ending card, that I made for Steve's forthcoming birthday. He'll be 49 this year so I wanted to make something special for him. That's why i decided on the never ending card as I could add so many lovely messages and images to it to show him how I felt.

This part of the never ending card has a slightly wintry feel as his birthday is in December after all. I stamped the Happy birthdays in opposite corners and added some glittery numbers '49' and then added some other sentiments.

And this is the front of the never ending card in Steve's favourite colours. His birthday isn't until the 12th December, but I really hope that he likes it. Although it wasn't that hard to make, a lot of time and thought has been put into it.

Suspension Card

This is a Suspension Card I made this week. As you can see I have been trying out new ideas and things to do with cardstock. I'll add the tutorial for this one also, tomorrow.

Pop-Up Card

I made this pop-up card for my bessie mate, Sarn to let her know I was thinking of her. I will be adding instructions tomorrow guys so you'll have to wait until then if you want to know how to make it... Watch this space!

Spike

Another of Dustin Pike's freebie dragons. I just love them so much. This one reminds me of Lianne's goth phase (full of attitude and spikey). I love the punk'd out teddy bear too. I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder to create the embossed web and ran it over with my Stazon ink pad. I then added some Anita's swirls in the corners and the 'Happy Birthday' greetings.

Bismark's Christmas

A great digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil. I love this dog, lovingly called 'Bismark'. This is one of many, so many of my friends are dog lovers, so they're all getting this one, or one like it, the colours vary along with the ribbon, but otherwise they're the same.

Blue without YOU!

Was bored yesterday so I wanted to make something different to my usual square or A5 cards. I made this triangle card and coloured the whole thing in with my blue ProMarker pen and then stamped a Forever Friends image and cut it out and mounted it with foam pads. I made the sentiment myself, 'Blue without YOU!' and mounted it over some blue ribbon.

Claire's Tattoo

My friend Claire popped in to see me yesterday and she mentioned that she wanted a tattoo so we discussed it and came up with this. I drew this on her ankle with a marker pen and she loves it, so she's getting it done next week and has promised that once the scabbing has gone, she will allow me to photograph it again so that I can show you all the finished result. Doesn't it look great???

Free Digital Cherries

Free Digital Cherries for use with the Muffin.
Please feel free to comment whether you do or do not like them. These are sized perfectly with the muffin but again, the image has not been compressed so you should get them actual size for resizing to suit your needs once you have saved the image.
Don't forget to let me know if you are using them or just the muffin, so that I can have a look to see what you have made with them. Look forward to seeing what you make of them. Thanks

Free Digital Muffin

I drew this muffin the other day and Lianne said 'why don't you offer it as a free digital image on your blog?' because I have been getting a lot of digital images both free and paid for recently. So I thought why not, if anyone wants it, feel free to right click as I haven't compressed it so you should be able to save it and re-size it. I'll add some cherries that I had also drawn to go with it and I'll make a card in the week sometime, showing you my coloured version if you want to have a go yourself...Enjoy.
If you are saving this image to use to make a card which you might then add to a blog or forum, please let others know where you found it and please, leave a comment for me below so that I too can have a look to see what you have done with it. Many thanks. Please let me know if you have any problems with saving it, as this is the first one I have done.

Hungry Hamster

Another favourite from Mo. This little hamster is sitting on a muffin nibbling away, just like Lianne's rat SOXY.

I just used two coloured pencils on this card and used various degrees of pressure in different areas to shade. I added a greeting and a little fabric muffin to the corners and some ribbon.

Sending Hugs Greeting

A close up of the Sending Hugs image that I created on my previous card. If anyone would like a copy of this, I would be happy to send the non-coloured image to them digitally so that it can be resized and used personally on your cards, email me at moonstone1405@hotmail.com with your email address or leave a comment below and I'll send it to you as soon as I can.

Sending Hugs

Sending Hugs. I really like this card and this image from Mo is just lovely. I handwrote the lettering at the bottom of the card as I wanted something special along the bottom and had nothing in my stamps that was a) large enough or b) appropriate. Thanks Mo x

Bronte and Louis

This is a freebie from Mo. Lewis, my son, loved this image and said that Bronte reminded him of our Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Ali. So I made the card to look like a younger Lewis with his mate Ali. She's always hovering around him when HE'S eating cookies or biscuits too. Coloured in the image with my ProMarkers again and added some letters to spell out 'Ali and Me'. Lewis gave the card to my mum, who cried... bless. Poor Ali - she's still with us but very, very poorly.

Yo Ho Dragon

A close up of this lovely little Pirate Dragon.

This is the finished project. I coloured the image with my ProMarker pens, my Copics and my TomBow pens and then cut the image out using my nestabilities and my Big Shot. I then added some other cut outs and the greeting and mounted the image onto a larger scalloped circle in red to coordinate with the dragons waistcoat. I then highlighted certain areas with my white pencil and my white gel pen. I then added the background paper, the ribbon and the 'YO HO' from letters cut out using my Big Shot. Hope I've done Dustin proud. I love this card.
