FF Challange: Add a Charm

Hi peeps and Forever Friends Challengers

Here's the latest fortnightly challenge card, which this time is... 'Add a Charm'.

Remember, you don't have to use a Forever Friends image on your card.  You can either use one of those gorgeous, huggable bears or, you can use any other image of your choice, as long as it is an animal. Now, you're not telling me that you don't possess an animal stamp, digi, decoupage sheet or just an old birthday card that you can recycle and add a charm too... are you??? Thought not!

Now go create a card and take part in this fortnight's challenge. It's a great way to get inspiration, but it's also a great way to showcase YOUR work.

We'd love to see what you create and who knows, maybe you'll even get to win a prize??? Good luck.

Here's my card for the challenge.

I decided to make an easel card (mainly because I haven't made one for a while and also because I like the way charms hang on easels) to which I added the digi image.  I also added a sentiment (freebie) from Create with TLC. I also added a Birthday sentiment from Craftwork Cards to which I adhered my Charm, with a little wire, to the card and then added some colour co-ordinated ribbon as well.

I cut out some letters and spelt 'SISTER', on plain white card and added them along the bottom of the easel 'stopper'. I then traced around the outline of the letters with a gellyroll glitter pen and then added some gemstones to finish it off.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog today and good luck!

Hugs,

FF Challange: Ribbons and Lace

This fortnightly challenge for Forever Friends is all about Ribbons and Lace. And the sponsor this time is Whoopsi Daisy who created this lovely image.

As a DT member of the Forever Friends Challenge blog, I have been away for a while and wanted to make a special card. Although I didn't have any lace, I found a lace doily and added lots of layers to give the card dimension, plus I used a variety of colours.

I coloured the image with Copics and Derwent Watercolour Pencils and the sentiment was a freebie from Create with TLC. I then added some adhesive gem stones to finish the card off.

Thanks for stopping by,
Hugs

Forever Friends '3D' Challenge

This fortnights challenge from Forever Friends is a 3D challenge and is sponsored by Stitchy Bears.  I decided to make my card on an acetate base and then added several various layers.

Here are a few images of my card so that you can see the different layers.  I decided to stick with a pink and black theme as the fairy is just too cute to be any other colour than pink.

I added a sentiment from Lili of the Valley and the background was cut out using a Martha Stewart around the page punch. The black circle scallop was cut out using a large scalloped nestie.

I am so sorry but I can't be sure who made the back ground paper, but I think it may have been Pink Petticoat???

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to pop over to the Forever Friends blog and have a go at this fortnights challenge. Remember, you do not have to use a Forever Friends image in order to take part, you may use any stamped image, as long as it's an animal of some kind. You never know, you may win, but you have to be in it to win it. Good luck!

Devoted & Dashing Dad

Hi girls (and guys)

This fortnights challenge on the Forever Friends challenge blog is to create a ROUND CARD. Remember, you don't have to use a Forever Friends image if you don't have one as long as you use an animal.

This fortnight's challenge is sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads and she very kindly gave the DT some images to use on our creations.  As you can see, my card is not exactly a round one but the front of the easel is. I had originally made the easel round as well but I wasn't happy with the finished result. So I remade it with a square base and a round easel and I think it worked out well.

I used a selection of different papers, merged the digi image with a sentiment from Create with TLC and coloured the image in with my promarker pens. I added a round birthday sentiment from Craftword Cards and job done.

Not entirely happy with the finished result, I reprinted the image again and coloured it the same way as the original and decoupaged the bear only to the front.

Here's a slightly smaller image so that you can see the decoupaged area.

I hope that you will decide to join in the fun this time and good luck.  I hope you like my card that I created for the Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by, hugs xxx

Forever Friends 'Birthday Card' Challenge

Morning fellow crafters

Just to let you know that the new (fortnightly) Forever Friends challenge has begun.  This time, we are sponsored by Bizzy Bec's, who have a wonderful selection of digi stamps for you to choose from. When I was asked to select one for this challenge, I didn't know where to begin, I was truly spoilt for choice!

For those of you who know me personally, my choice will come as no surprise whatsoever. I have a weakness about anything and everything Burlesque, so my choice of Bizzy Bec's digi stamps just had to be 'Burlesque Betty'. So here is my card for the DT:

Thank you so much for your visit and I look forward to visiting your blogs to see what you have created this time. We had such a lovely repsonse to the previous challenge, I hope you'll come back again this time for the Birthday Card challenge, remember... it doesn't have to be a Forever Friends image, just an animal will do.

Good luck! Hugs x

Forever Friends 'Spots & Dots' Challenge

Hi guys and girls
Sorry it's been a while, but here is my card for this fortnight's Forever Friends Challenge (Spots and Dots sponsored by I am Roses). Remember, you don't have to use a Forever Friends image, check out the FF Challenge Blog for the new rules.

Here's my card:
I used Promarkers to colour it in and used a rubber stamp image for the calender embellishment (from Lili of the Valley) at the top left. Coloured the background with my usual 'spotty background' and added some Candi from Craftwork Cards. The border punch was created using my Martha Stewart punch and the background papers are from First Edition Paper (Sweet Owl Collection).

Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs xx

Forever Friends 'Use Punches' Challenge

Hi guys and girls
Long time no post... anyway, I have been having a few problems with my internet connection so now it has finally been sorted I can post a card or two.

Here is my card for this fortnight's Forever Friends challenge, 'Use Punches' and is sponsored by Whimsey Stamps. I have used one of their digital images 'Touched by Love'.  The background text and 'leaf' is by Hero Arts Clear Designs.

The punches I used were my large scalloped circle nesties, which I created the centre piece with and the borders were created using my Martha Stewart emboss and cut scallops with dots (not sure that is the correct name as the packaging has long since been disposed of).

I then simply added some blue flowers just to finish the card off, which I adhered with my trusty glue gun.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting, hugs

Forever Friends Buttons & Bows Challenge

This is my card for the latest Forever Friends challenge, 'Buttons and Bows'.

We were asked to make a card using a digi stamp from Di's Digi Downloads and (of course) a Forever Friends image. So Buttons and Bows was the theme and this is the card that I made. One person has seen this card so far, as I made it for my BFF, Sarn, who celebrated her birthday on St George's Day. Her lovely hubby Gra took her into London for the day and it sounds like she had a fab time and also some fabulous weather. Hope you had a lovely day Sarn?

Anyway, back to my card.... I merged two Di's Digi Downloads images together and then stamped out a FF stamp, which I coloured and cut out and then decoupaged to the image with foam pads. I then coloured in the rest of the image and mounted some DP to the base card. I then mounted the whole thing onto pink mirri card and then added some buttons, a bow and a sentiment. Hope you like it?

Forever Friends Challenge Sketch

Once again, I apologise for my tardiness in this fortnights Forever Friends challenge, as it is the Easter holidays here, we decided to take an inpromptu visit to Norfolk for a long weekend to make the most of our good old British weather! And NOOOOOOOO internet!!!!

So, without further ado, here is my creation for this fortnight's challenge.

You will need to follow the sketch (as shown below), you must use a Forever Friends image and basically as long as you use the sketch (you can flip it or rotate it to suit your needs) you can then add your link on the Forever Friends Challenge blog.

Here's the sketch. I can't wait to see all of your lovely creations. Thanks for stopping by to visit me.

Good luck!

Anything but a Card

Hello fellow crafters.  Apologies for taking soooo long to post my entry for this fortnightly challenge. I am soooo pleased to be part of the Forever Friends Challenge Fortnightly Design Team!!

So for my first DT duty, this fortnights challenge is "Anything but a card"

I came up with an inspiration jar! I got an old coffee jar that was finished and washed it out thoroughly. I always keep these old Douwe Egberts coffee jars as they come in brilliantly for storing buttons, ribbons, charms etc. I covered the front of the jar with a piece of white paper that I had printed the words, 'My Inspiration Jar' onto and then proceeded to stamp my image onto it. I coloured it with promarkers and then stamped out the same image several times onto a thicker card. Which I left uncoloured and cut out leaving a slight border.  Inside the heart, I wrote down several pieces of inspiration, so now whenever my MOJO is lacking, I can reach for the Inspiration Jar and make a card using 1, 2 or 3 of the inspirational messages. Et voila!

Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by and supporting me and the Forever Friends Challenge Blog. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Hugs, Fae xxx

SOME GOOD NEWS...

Hi girls (and fellow crafters)

I have an announcement to make... now that it's official! NO... I'm not pregnant (that would be impossible!), I HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO JOIN THE FORTNIGHTLY DT FOR FOREVER FRIENDS!!!!

I am sooooooo chuffed that the girls chose me to join them and I hope that I won't let the team down (as I have been secretly coveting their blogs and they're all fantastic!) I hope that you will join me and the other girls every fortnight (oh, and don't forget the monthly challenge, they have some new DT members there too!) and join in the challenges with me. I hope to offer you some inspiration and ideas, so make sure you pop over... your cards and designs might well be the one we choose to win!

Good luck and see you all soon.
