Lily and Milo

Katharina was doing a YAOB (Your Artwork on my Blog) challenge where you had to create a card using any of her layout sketches. This is my offering to one of her fabulous cards. Hardly in the same league but I had fun trying. Her cards are fabulous, check out her blog using the links to the right and maybe have a go at her YAOB challenge yourself. She's giving away a fabulous stamp to the best card, although I sent this to her before she set the type of stamp you had to use, but hey, I still like it.

Good Luck

Appeal Day

Well tomorrow is Appeal Day. For those of you who don't already have children of Secondary education age (10 years), here's some advice. If you don't get one of your choices of Secondary School... APPEAL...APPEAL...APPEAL!!!!

This has been the hardest few months of my life so far. First I had to deal with a very disappointed 10 year old daughter who didn't get any of her three choices and now I have to Appeal the decision. I have already done one school but tomorrow morning at 9.15am I have the most important Appeal interview, the school Lianne most wants to attend. I think in the last few weeks, I must have lost about a stone with worry and tomorrow is finally dawning on me. I hope, more than anything else, I do the best I can and get her into the school, but if she doesn't get in, I want to be able to look her in the eyes and swear to her that I have done everything I could. I'm even wearing a dress and going to bed early!!!! Don't laugh!

If nothing else, think of me tomorrow from about 9.15am until about 9.30am and send me all your good thoughts. I'm a really strong believer in the power of positive thinking so send me all your thoughts and good wishes....PLEASE!

Pretty in Pink

Another Penny Black image (courtesy of Sarn, so I don't know this one's name...sorry). I water coloured the image again, as before, and added some glitter. Mounted it onto pink and green linen embossed cardstock and then mounted the whole thing onto pink base card. Added this really lovely pink polka-dot ribbon and a scalloped circle with a Happy Birthday sentiment inside.

House Mouse

I love this image, those little meeces are just too too sweet. This is an image sent me to by Sarn and I watercoloured it and added glitter where the water droplets are. Mounted several times and then added a scalloped circle with a birthday sentiment.
Here's a close up of the image. Isn't it lovely...

Hedgehog Joy

by Penny Black again... as if it could be anything else???

Went for a bit of a green overload on this one but I think it works quite well, despite the fact that I hate green. A friend of mine is passionate about it though so I really went for it. Too much???? I'll let you all decide but I like it.

Just floatin' by...

Penny Black's 'Bon Voyage' is the star of this card. Watercoloured and highlighted. The 'celebrate' stamp is one that Sarn has kindly loaned to me and the birds have been hand drawn with a black pen. A simple red polka dot ribbon to finish.

Slider Card

This is a card design that I copied from Stamping Caz. When myself and Sandra met up with Sharon and Caz at a crafting class at the Glitter Pot at the beginning of June, I noticed a rather lovely, outstanding card and took a few measurements and photos. I don't really know what to call it, if indeed it has a name, so I'm calling it a Slider Card.
This is what it looks like from the front.
and this is what it looks like from the side when it has been pulled open.
Not bad really for a first attempt I think. I have measurements and details for anyone wishing to make this card, please let me know.

Dun Roamin'

Another Whipper Snapper, this one is great for new homes or travellers. Used the same background paper I bought from the Glitter Pot on the previous card and a scalloped circle with the 'hello' clear sentiment stamp from Hero Arts. Ribbon, flower and Zoomz to finish.

The Grass is Greener...

This Whipper Snapper stamp is a well worn favourite of mine, as I use fim for many different cards. On this occasion I used him for a birthay card for a friend who's mad about green. The background paper was a purchase from the Glitter Pot and the circle sentiment is by Craftwork Cards (also purchased from the Glitter Pot), they're fab as the pack contains four sheets, 2 x silver and 2 x gold of all these fab greetings and sentiments. Hope you like it?

Good Enough to Eat...

I love this card. When I started it I had no idea that by the time I had finished making it, I would be drooling and raiding the fridge... ha ha ha! Sarn would say there's not enough chocolate in it, but hey, there's some chocolate on one of the starwberries, what more do you want?

Enjoy xxx

Lily and Milo Too

Another creation made with Lily and Milo, I think they're so cute and I think I'm gonna love this stamp to death!!! There's just so many ways I can visualise using them (perfect for anniversaries, wedding, engagement, etc), I can't wait. I cut a circle edge to the top right of this card just to do something different and used the scalloped circle as a 'sealed closure' for the card.

Lily and Milo

Hi guys, I bought this stamp (among other things) at the Glitter Pot when I went to visit Stamping Caz for a crafting class. We had a great day and it was really nice to meet up with Sarn and Shaz. The flower and dragonfly stamp in the background are from clear stamp collections by Hero Arts. I watercoloured the image and then mounted it onto linen embossed cardstock. I then finished the card with some fabric flowers and a ribbon with beads. Hope you like it, Fae xx

Saturday Blog Challenge (not one of mine)

Hi guys, sorry I have been an absentee blogger for a wee while, i've just been tied up with Lianne's many after school activities to do anything else and have generally fallen asleep by 9pm so haven't had a chance to do any crafting. Anyway, I was looking on Stamping Caz's blog earlier and happened to notice that she had a link to www.pennybfriendssaturdaychallenge.blogspot.com and they are having a Saturday PENNY BLACK challenge this weekend. Anyone and everyone is invited to participate, so have a look and rise to the challenge, I think I'm going to have to!!! Most of all, have fun xxx

Gatefold Challenge

My EVIL adopted sister, Sarn, decided to take revenge on me for my previous challenge by giving me a male, gatefold card challenge (she knows I hate making male cards!!!)

Anyway, Lianne gave me the idea to make a father's day card for her to give to Steve for Father's Day later this month. So here's what I created for him. The stamps are called 'Gent's Waistcoat' and 'Gent's Shirt' both by Funstamps. I then added some of the adhesive Jolee's Embellishments from their 'Tailgating' collection and cut the word DAD from black card.

What do you think???

Ace Card

This is card I was asked to make for another friend's nephew. I always have trouble thinking of new things to do for boys and men and I saw these lovely little racing car images and so I thought they would be perfect for a male card of any age.

I cut the letters out of black card as before and then highlight some faux stitching with a white gel pen (thanks Katharina!) and then added the 'Best Wishes' silver adhesive stickers from Anita's.

Help Needed...

I was asked, last year, to make some wedding invitations for a friends daughter, who was getting married in Cyprus. She was so thrilled with the job I had done on the wedding invitations that she has just asked me to make her some evening invitations for a celebration she in having in this country for the guests who couldn't make Cyprus.

However, although this is not a problem, I only have 'Congratulations' or 'Wedding' or 'Invitation' stamps. She would like the words 'Celebration' across the bottom.

Does anyone have a 'Celebration' stamp that I could borrow for a short time (probably a couple of months as she wants me to make 100 invitations). I have had a look around and I can't find anything that I think would be suitable and I don't really want to have to buy a stamp that I might not need again as I want to keep the costs to a minimum for her. So if you have anything you think may be suitable and wouldn't mind lending it to me, please let me know as soon as possible, with pictures, on moonstone1405@hotmail.com.

Much appreciated!
With love and thanks, Fae xxx

Sweet Memories

This is an Anniversary card that a friend asked me to make for her friend who's celebrating her anniversary soon. I wanted to make something that had the happy couple on the front and I used my lovely new 6x6 papers on the front underneath the main picture which I deckle edged and then added the pearl adhesives and the silver, thinking of you.
Here's another of my little scented soap boxes. Wish I could make the soap myself as well. But, nevertheless, I'm really pleased with these little boxes. I think they'll come in very handy when I need a 'little something' to give to someone quickly as a little 'thank you'.

I just think they're so cute.

And the winner is...

Lianne thought very long and very hard before coming to a decision, and unfortunately there CAN only be ONE winner!

And the winner is:
JULIE

Congratulations Julie, your prize will be winging it's way to you in the post in the next couple of days. Well done, you put so much thought and effort into making this card, and Lianne thought it was a definite overall winner!

Here they are...

In no particular order, here are the entries we received for the Blog Challenge:
Here is Julie's Christmas Penny Black entry:
Here is Sandra's Christmas Penny Black entry:

And here is Yvonne's Penny Black entry:

As you can see, all of the entries were really cleverly made, with innovative shapes and various different embellishments. It was lovely to see that you all rose to the challenge so well, despite, blood, sweat and tears being shed at times.
Lianne is about to make her decision... watch this space!
