She's Charming

This weeks' challenge over at The Paper Shelter is 'Blooming'. The link for the challenge can be found here.

I made this card with the digi stamp called 'She's Charming" from The Paper Shelter and she can be found here.

I wanted to keep this card clean and simple so printed the image and coloured her in with my Copic and ProMarker pens.

I then added a simple sentiment from Craftwork Cards and added some flowers and adhesive pearls.

I love the blue of this young ladies dress but wanted to match it to the background paper (so bit of a fail there) but I am really pleased with how the card itself turned out.  Was exactly what I was aiming for with the 'clean and simple' approach.

I just love the cuteness of this stamp, the way she's powdering her face ready for her big date or even her prom.  Cuteness!!

Anyway, if you're also taking part in The Paper Shelter's challenge, good luck. It's lovely to see all the fabulous cards that other people make with the same images. Lots of inspiration and lots of great ideas.

The Paper Shelter DT Call and GIRLY Challenge

Hi guys,
It took me ages and is only my second attempt but I managed to colour this entire card solely in black, grey and white. And yes, I deliberately added a sepia colour background so that you guys wouldn't think that I had just changed the colour of the photograph to black and white. So NO, I didn't cheat!!

I love this image and think it's quite a girlie image in itself. I kept the embellishments simple and although I was a little scared in colouring this image solely in monochrome, I was actually quite pleased with the finished result.

Just so that you can see how I coloured the image previously, I am adding a small picture of the same image but in bright colours.

Spring Truffle

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Made this DigiStamp Boutique card for my lovely mum.  It is the first Mother's Day without my nan so I knew it was going to be a hard day for her.

I coloured the image 'Truffle' from the Spring Honey and Truffle Set (found here) with my Promarker and Copic markers and then added a few little embellishments (adhesive pearls and rhinestones) just to finish off the card. I am entering this card into this months Digi Stamp Boutique challenge and this week's Passion for Promarkers challenge.

I then just printed a sentiment and added that to the front at the bottom of the image.

Wasn't 100% happy with the colour of the image itself as I think I made him a little too dark but mum was over the moon with her card so that's good enough for me.

I particularly like the fact that the image has tulips in it as these are her favourites. So I also bought a big bunch of red and white tulips to go with the card.  Happy Mother's Day, Mum.  I love you xx

I was asked to make an 18th Birthday card for a friend of my daughter's, and decided, as he will be doing his first driving lesson on his birthday, this lovely image from Lili of the Valley would be perfect.

I used my beloved ProMarkers (and Prismacolour pencils for highlights and lowlights) to colour this image and added a few candi embellishments and a sentiment (also from Lili of the Valley).

Just a temptation...

Here's my version of the hallowe'en challenge, which of course Steve has said I'm not allowed to take part in, so I thought I would make a card to show you guys how easy it is to follow the rules...

Four colours including black. Penny Black stamp (from my BFF Sarn) and a little help from my nestabilities. A few flowers in chosen colours, dotted around and a greeting. Spooky eh? Well not so much, this is quite a tame card compared to what my Hallowe'en imagination is capable of but I didn't want to scare you all before bedtime.... Waa Ha Haaaaa

Orange & Black Challenge

This card was made for a little personal 'Snow Day' challenge between myself and Sarn. She's posted her challenge card to her blog annd also to me, which was lovely to receive by 'Snail Mail'. Anyway, this was my offering, a little bit toooooo orangey compared to hers but I had to work with what I had. I don't think it came out too badly considering. I think the flowers are Penny Black but can't be sure as it was a selection of images received from friends when I moved out as I couldn't find all of my stamps so these were sent to keep me going in the meantime.

Saturday Blog Challenge (not one of mine)

Hi guys, sorry I have been an absentee blogger for a wee while, i've just been tied up with Lianne's many after school activities to do anything else and have generally fallen asleep by 9pm so haven't had a chance to do any crafting. Anyway, I was looking on Stamping Caz's blog earlier and happened to notice that she had a link to www.pennybfriendssaturdaychallenge.blogspot.com and they are having a Saturday PENNY BLACK challenge this weekend. Challenge Cards

I just wanted to let you all know that Lianne, my daughter, has kindly offered to be the judge for the Challenge as she wanted it to be fair and unbiased. Not that I wouldn't have been fair, but she thought it would have taken some of the pressure off of me in having to make such a tough decision. So the 'judge' will make her decision on Sunday morning and then we will announce the winner.

Penny Black Challenge

Well girls, here's my effort! Not that I can win the prize of course but hey, I don't think it's too bad. I made a 3D pyramid card as the base (1) (see tutorial coming soon) , then used some pretty blue background paper (2). I then used the 'It's your Day' Penny Black stamp (3) which I coloured using blendable pencils and highlighted with a white gel pen (thanks Katharina). I then added an adhesive fabric flower (bottom right) with a metal charm tied with ribbon, and then added three colour coordinated flowers which I attached to the card with various sized brads (4). I will add another picture from another angle in a moment so that you can see the full pyramid effect. What d'ya think??? Hope your efforts are going according to plan, looking forward to seeing what you all come up with, perhaps we can offer some other types of inspiration??? Good luck, Fae xxx

Faes Follies Challenge Candy

Well, I enjoyed making Sarn's challenge so much that I have decided to create my own Challenge for you girls, and anyone else who's interested... Here goes... Are you ready for this?

I plucked FOUR items from my inspiration jar and you have to make a card utilising each of them. I will be doing this as well (just so it's fair) and all items received will be shown on my blog and the best one will recieve a little 'surprise candy' in the post!

Email your finished card to me and I will contact you for your address (if I don't already have it), if you are lucky enough to be the winner. All entries must be received no later than midnight on Saturday 31st May. Here are the criteria:

1. Use a background paper you've had for a while but never found a use for (until now)
2. Create a shaped card other than square or oblong.
3. Use a Penny Black stamp, but one you haven't used in a while!
4. Use a variety of different embellishments (at least four!).

Monochrome Waterfall

Well, here is the Monochrome Waterfall Card,
Bank Holiday Challenge, Sarn gave me.

I made this card using only black and white cardstock. I cut the white base card and then stamped it with my favourite leaf stamp from PSX (it doesn't have a name, just F-2781). I then cut the black cardstock as instructed on Splitcoast Stampers website and made the waterfall base. I then stamped four squares of white cardstock using the same 'Sketched Butterfly' from Stampendous! on each of them. I punched a hole and threadded through the thin black ribbon for the pull string. To finish the monochrome effect but not to leave it looking too stark, I added glitter just on the Butterflys body on each of the stamped images before attaching each piece to the sections on the waterfall base. Then I added the whole thing to the previously stamped white cardstock. Et voila! Next challenge please Sarn xxx

Tea Bag Challenge

I'm not very good with Tea Bag folding, but I got some freebies with a magazine and thought I would give it a go. This was the end result. I thought it might be a bit OTT but everyone in the house seems to think it's okay for someone who might appreciate the hard work that's been put into creating it. Although in truth, there really wasn't much to it apart from the endless folding!!! I added some adhesive flowers and butterflies that I received for my birthday and finished it off with some lovely background paper and ribbon. It's growing on me....slowly!

Bank Holiday Challenge

Sarn has just sent me a Bank Holiday Challenge via her Inspiration Jar, to make a waterfall card in monochrome...watch this space girls!!!

Weekend Challenge

This was an image given to me by my adopted step-mummy, Julie. She wanted to see what I could create with it so this was what I came up with. The photo is a bit dark but I think you can see where I was going with it. I coloured some of the image with a blue Sakura Jelly-Roll pen to add a bit of metallic sparkle and then used the blues in the background to create different layers. The adhesive silver wording is by Anita's and the flower is as before. Hope you like it Julie and it gives you a little inspiration for when you use your stamp. More challenges please, I really had fun making this.
