Shakin' Showers

Hi girls
The Tiddly Ink challenge is to make a SHAKER CARD using one of their fabulous images, so I chose this one.

I cut out the circle, for the shaker part, in the middle using my brand new circle cutter from We R Memory Keepers and then mounted acetate over the top of the circle on the inside.  Then I added foam pads all around the edge of the circle, making sure that none of the pads could be seen from the outside of the card (that would just look tacky!!!) and then I added some little silver and red confetti hearts and some beads.

I coloured my TI image with Promarkers; Cardinal Red, Poppy, Ivory, Blush, Umber, Cocoa and Cinnamon. I also used a little Pastel Blue on the puddle but you can't really see that very clearly because the sentiment is positioned over the top. The sentiment is from Create with TLC and was a freebie.

I then mounted the picture on the inside over the top of the foam pads and stuck it  tightly down with DSST so that it couldn't be removed (else all the bits and bobs would fall out...doh!) and finished it off with some red card candi from Craftwork Cards.

Hope you like my card.

If you have never made a Shaker Card before and would like to give it a go, pop over to the Tiddly Inks Blog as they have a really fabulous tutorial there. Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Baubles

A christmas bauble shaker card.

I haven't really been in the mood for card making this week, after losing Ali on Monday, but here's a Christmas shaker card that I have made. Nothing exceptional but I am still rather pleased with it considering.

I made the black 'frame' by cutting out a piece of black cardstock and then used by nestabilities and big shot to die cut the section from the middle. I then mounted some acetate behind the cut out and drew the bauble freehand, which I then coloured black and added the swirls and spots with a green metallic sakura pen. I added some foam pads around the edges of the picture and then put some micro glitter inside and then added the frame to the top. Et voila!! Added the ribbon to finish and some white faux stitching.

Forever Lavender

This is a card I made for my mum's birthday (1st September). She loves lilac and this background paper from Basic Grey is just black and white and I added some lilac to it with my lilac Tombow pen. I then made the shaker with a Forever Friends stamp, some 'sprinkles', sequins and fairy dust.

I then mounted it onto scalloped mirri card and added the lilac dragonfly and the lavender flowers with gemstones from PoundLand. I think it's very effective with the black, grey and white background paper. Hope she likes it?

Say it with flowers...

A friend contacted me yesterday morning asking me to make a card for her friend's 60th birthday. She just said she liked flowers, so I thought as it was a sixtieth, it needed something special that High Street cards lack. So I made a Shakers Card for her and cut out the '60' from the cardstock. Covered it with acetate, mounted some sticky foam pads and added the confetti inside. Put sparkly card in the background and sealed it. I then added a plain white insert and added the flowers to the front of the card. I know it's not three flowers but I think if I'd've put any more on it would've looked 'too busy'. I think it works but let me know if you think I should add anything else. Thanks, Fae x

Shakers...

I was asked to make these cards for an Italian Grandma and Granddad. I've made cards for Rosie before via a friend who asked me to make a soecial card when Rosie's daughter Antonella was born. She couldn't find any Italian birthday cards and particularly likes my shaker cards which I like doing but can be a bit tedious as I cut all the letters out by hand.
I know..I know, I need one of those Cricut thingies, but they're SOOOOO expensive, but then saying that, I do make a lot of these so maybe the birthday faery will bring one for me... who knows??? Or unless anyone out there has a second hand or old version one to sell me, get in touch!!!
