Happy Halloween

Hi guys and girls
I have something special today.  My passion for everything Halloween has been on an all time high today as I have been combining a few Blog Challenges to make something special.  I am entering this card in the following challenges:-

Passion for Promarkers 'Bee Happy' (Yellow and Black)
Songbird Challenges 'Build Me Up Buttercup' (Yellow)
Tiddly Inks 'Halloween' (using a Tiddly Inks image)
Divas by Design 'Something Spooky'

Firstly, I took a 20cm by 20cm (8" x 8") white base card.  In Publisher I had a 18.5cm x 18.5cm square and inserted the Tiddly Inks spider web (freebie) from a while back, into the box.  I then layered another box over the top and added the 'Spooky Birthday' image (but only part of it).  I stuck this to the base card with double sided adhesive tape. I then added a Halloween sentiment, a ribbon and three yellow card candi.

On the inside, I created a similar background and then added a verse that I made up. It says:

From our house to your house
on 'All Hallows Eve'
may your Hallowe'en be a restful one
from Fae, Lianne, Lewis and Steve

I then reprinted the first image and coloured the cake in. I then cut the cake out and added it to the verse on the inside.

My Creepy Halloween Valentine

Hi girls, last one for today and this one is being entered into TWO challenges.

I, of course, used a Tiddly Inks image and coloured her in lurid red and distressed the edges slightly with coloured inks. And then the inside has my 'heart' for my hubby. Bleurghhhh, I hear you say! But I love him. I do!

It's a Halloween Valentine... why don't we actually have these cards in the shops. My heart belongs to you and all that. My Creepy Valentine... good idea for goths anyway.

I hope that it complies with both challenges rules and that you like it. Mores the point, I hope hubby likes it. He's not as creepy as I am. Whaaaaa ha haaaaaaaa...

Yes, yes... I know it isn't Hallowe'en yet but, Happy Hallowe'en Girls and Boys.  Watch them bed bugs don't bite.

Experiment in Terror

Hi girls
Had a busy week, despite being full of flu. I have made a few cards that I would like to share with you and, a few that I won't, Mojo has been as poorly as my head I think and therefore SOME of the cards are fit for publication and the others... well... they're only fit for the bin!

Here's my first one, which was a bit of an experiment with terror. I enlarged the digi image to cover one half of the base card and then printed another of the same size onto plain white card. I then smudged some black stayzon ink around the edges of the base card and cut out a little piece of the duplicated image. Which I coloured in and mounted onto black mirri card. I coloured them in with ProMarkers; Cocoa, Henna, Cinnamon, Blush, Ivory, Lime Green, Indigo Blue, Cool Grey 5 and Cool Grey 3.

I was hoping for a totally spooky (yet cutesy) card and I think the black and white, with a splash of colour worked sort of... didn't it?

H-Owling Hallowe'en

Hi girls
As promised, here is my FIRST DT challenge card for the Hodge Podge Blog.

I distressed two different but similarly coloured designer papers buy rubbing a copper ink pad over the top and around the edges. I then mounted both DP onto gold mirri card and then printed off the Hallowe'en Owl (available at Hodge Podge Shop). 

I used ProMarkers: Henna, Cocoa, Shale, Primrose Yellow, Canary, Pumpkin and Apricot. I then highlighted certain areas with a gold Sakura Gelly Roll pen.

I added a gold Craftwork Cards sentiment and some orange miniature 'aster' flowers.

Hallowe'en Betty

And now to my final card (today...so far).

I have made this card for the Simply Betty Stamps 'Emo Halloweenie Blog Hop'. All you have to do is leave a comment on each and every blog included in the Hop and then make a halloween card (using one of the Simply Betty Stamps, but you're not allowed to use one of their Hallowe'en stamps).

The cutesy the better and then colour it hallowe'enie style, hence the GREEN face. There are some fantastic new digi stamps up for grabs so good luck, if you take part, and 'happy hopping'. The DT have some fantastic halloew'en style cards on display which should give you some brilliant inspiration.

But, anyway, this is my offering (although it's nowhere near their standards).

I used 'Betty1' digi stamp and coloured her with ProMarkers: Blossom, Rose Pink, Grass, Forest Green, Lime Green and Black. I then mounted her onto Black Mirri card and used the Martha Stewart stars border punch. I then mounted that onto Black adhesive glitter, then mounted onto white and then again onto black cardstock (leaving small borders each time).  I then cut some of the 'Madly in Love' stack DP and used the MS Doily Punch along the bottom which I then added some black sparkly ribbon to and then mounted the whole thing onto black mirri card basecard. I finished it off with a black greeting (from my stash) and added some white highlights. Phew!!!

Happy Hallowe'en

Good Morning fellow crafters
Here's a little card I put together last night.

I wanted this image the moment I saw her and couldn't wait to print her off and start colouring.  That's what I love about digi-stamps, you don't have to wait for the postman, but... be warned... it's very addictive!!!

Anyway, here is my card and here's what I did: I printed off the 'Spooky Birthday' Tiddly Inks image and the ProMarkers used were; Burnt Orange, Blush, Ivory, Apricot, Ice Grey 1, Cool Grey 3 and a bit of glitter.

I added some designer Hallowe'en themed papers to the background and some orangey stars. I then added some black, orange and brown 1mm gemstones and black and orange ribbon to finish.

Meet Marvin

OMG. Look at what I found last night while I was surfing the net.

I stumbled across a website called The Stamping Bazaar and look what I found there. Marvin the Bat! Isn't he just the cutest little bat you have ever seen. They are currently offering all three image of Marvin for $10.00 so of course I HAD to have them (Hmmm, I need to get back to work and soon before I end up bankrupt!).  More 'Shhhhhh'...please.

Anyway, I bought ALL THREE (what a bargain) and here is what I have done with our little Marvin. Yep, you guessed it, more Hallowe'en cards.

Here's what I did with him: I used ProMarkers: Cinnamon, Cocoa, Henna, Livory, Blush, Blossom, Cardinal Red, Yellow and Blue Bell. The slightly lilac haze around the edges was done with coloured pencil and Sansodor.

I then 'cut' (with great pain) some designer paper from my DCWV 'Madly in Love Stack' and mounted it onto black mirri card used for the base. And then cut some more (oh my...panic attacks now!) from a different sheet in the stack and layered that on top with some more glittered velvet ribbon (from Norfolk stash). I then just added a sentiment (I chose this one as I can use it either as a Hallowe'en card or as a Birthday card depending on my mood in October) and some highlights with my Sakura Jelly roll white hightlighter pen.

I haven't done anything with these images yet, I just wanted to show you how I coloured them. I can't wait to add them to cards, but that's for a later date.

The Dark Side...

Ok fellow crafters, as promised, here is the card I made with the image I coloured yesterday 'Betty Belfrey' only a hallwe'eny version of her...

I kept the card quite simple as I didn't want to draw too much attention to anything else other than the image itself.  I cut around the image and mounted it onto black mirri card and then onto a purple case card.

I simply then added some black and purple mini gemstones (from stash), some black, velvet, sparkly ribbon (from recent trip to Norfolk) and a bat charm / pendant thingy that I kept when my daughter broke the necklace that it hung from.

The inside simply reads:

Happy Hallowe'en

Hope you all like how it 'eventually' turned out and are not too disappointed with the finished result?

Betty Belfrey

Hello again, I have a confession to make... I'm a digi-holic!

I've bought some more digi stamps and I think I need help!!! ;o(

This is two of the stamps I bought this morning, from Tiddly Inks, that I have merged together and I couldn't print them off fast enough.  Although I have coloured this image in and it's finished, I haven't added it to a card yet but I just had to show it to you before doing anything else with it as I am sooooo pleased with it.

It's going to be a hallowe'en card for one of  my very best friends and, like I said, I just had to show it to you post colouring.

Here's what I did: I merged the two stamps 'gothic window' and 'betty belfrey' together. I then coloured it with ProMarkers; Ice Grey 1, Cool Grey 3, Indigo Blue, Forest Green, Cocoa,  Henna, Amethyst, Ivory and Blush and then used my white pencil to highlight the trees and white Sakura Jelly Roll highlighter for the rest.

and finally...

This is the pumpkin that I made for my family this Halloween. We bought the tombstone from Asda and the pumpkin, which is huge, was a bargain at a £1.

I then bought a plastic spider and stuck it on the top of the lid so that when the pumpkin has a candle inside and is glowing it gives the spider a spooky glow... creepy!!!

FINALLY... I would like to wish you all a happy hallowe'en that's full of treats and no tricks. I'm off to fly on my broomstick now... ha ha ha ha ha

Hallowe'en 2009

This card was made using some things that I discovered in my craft drawer that were purchased (probably) years ago when I first started crafting and never found a use for until now. I decided to make a couple of hallowe'en cards for my friends as they have started dressing up their houses like I do. I have also started making a hanging mobile of bats and witches that I can add to my decorations this year for when the little darlings knock on my door. Ha Ha Ha.

Sarn will recognise this one... the reason we are friends today. I bought this Penny Black stamp (my very first one) from Sarn on Ebay many, many years ago and we have been friends ever since. I added it to the front of this card as he looked so cute and I didn't want to overpower the background. I used my CuttleBug embossing plate of a spiders web onto orange card and then rubbed a black Stayzon gently over the top and then added it to the front of black cardstock. I added the ribbon and then cut out two black trees from the leftover cardstock to add a little dimension to the card. Happy Hallowe'en (a few months early I know but hey, you've got to be prepared..haven't you?)
