Christmas Challenge

This is Poya (one of Toread's friends).

I made this card for the August Christmas Card challenge set by Julie. The challenge was that you should make a Christmas card, with glitter and some of our precious ribbon, but NO Christmas Trees anywhere on the card. Poya was such a cutie sitting in the centre of his little Holly Wreath so I knew he had to be part of my design. I cut out the decoupage image and then mounted Poya onto Gold Mirri card to which I added some red ribbon and then mounted the gold onto Red Mirri card. Then I stuck the layers onto the red cardstock which had already been stamped with a gold leaf in the background. I then stamped the large Inkadinkadoo 'Merry Christmas' stamp which I stamped in black and then added a layer of glitter over the top of all the lettering and then added the flowers in coordinating colours with buttons in the centre.

Anniversary Card

This is an anniversary card for a very special couple. This is some more decoupage designs that I bought from Marij, they are called Toread and Friends. Aren't they too cute??? I don't think I've ever seen these in any local stores so as soon as I saw them I thought I really have to buy these as I might not get the opportunity to get them again, which was when Marij kindly gave me her website address and said I could also purchase them online.

This is a couple of close-up images of the above card so that you can see their faces up close (so sweet) and so that you can see the detail in the background papers aswell. I was just totally smitten with these little cuties, that I would love to find out now from Marij, if these are actually available anywhere as rubber stamps also.

I hope you like these cards, there will definitely be more from Toread in the very near future... believe me... I bought a book-ful of decoupage sheets and although I've never really been a huge fan of all that cutting and delicate snipping, I think that these are definitely worth the effort.

'Bobbie' the Builder

Whilst in Norfolk, I was fortunate enough to come across a lovely local Craft Fair. While looking around inside at the various local craft stalls, quilts, cushion covers, jewellery etc, I came across a lady from the Netherlands called Marij Rahder. She was really lovely and very helpful. She had some fabulous decoupage sheets, so many in fact that I couldn't decide which ones I wanted and ended up spending a small fortune. Anyway, I really loved the various designs she had from cute to traditional and they were VERY reasonably priced, so I said I would mention her on my blog: http://www.hecinhobby.nl/ then just click on the Union Jack for English translation. It's definitely worth a look. I also have her mobile number if you wish to speak to someone personally. She's happy to take your order by phone if you don't like ordering on the net. Just email me at moonstone1405@hotmail.com for details if you prefer. Below is a close up of the image, although not very focused, but you can at least see the various layers.

She also has a wide selection of Pandora style bead's and charms in a beautiful collection of colours and styles. I purchased a really lovely bracelet from her and you can buy the beads individually to add to the bracelet so that you can colour co-ordinate with a favourite outfit.

I hope you enjoy looking at her website, as I said she was ever so helpful and a had such a vast selection to choose from. Enjoy.

I'm all set...

Right girlies, I'm all packed and ready for my hols tomorrow. Kids are going to bed early so that I can have five minutes peace before I turn in for the night. I'm going to bed early as I have a really early start in the morning and a long drive ahead of me.

Can't wait. See you all in a week's time. I'll be back on Saturday next week so I'll be eager to find out what's new and what's been added to your blogs.

Keep safe and happy xxx

Rainy Days

These great stamps are by Hanna Stamps (Rainy Day) they are clear stamps and come as a set, there's a really cute little duck and some rain drops etc.

I made this for a friend's birthday and as the weather is not so great at the moment, I thought I would add a 'happy' rainy day image on the front of her birthday card, in the hope that it would bring a smile to her face...despite the weather!

Kept the colours to a minimum just using turquoise blues and browns (with the exception of yellow for her hair, just to break it up a bit).

Kitty Witch

This is the very first Penny Black stamp I ever purchased. This is the stamp responsible for my friendship with Sarn and the reason we became such good friends.

The challenge was to make a card with a stamp you haven't used for ages. To put aside all those lovely new stamps and use something that is old and has been forgotton. Well, I have to admit, NONE of my Penny Black stamps are EVER forgotton, this one especially as it is not only a great stamp (Kitty Witch) but also has very special sentimental value. I usually get this one out at Halloween, but didn't for some reason last year, probably because I bought some lovely new Whipper Snapper Halloween themed stamps. However, this one is out for keeps now and will be used in abundance this year.

Hope you like it?

Autumn Leaves begin to Fall...

This was a card made for a Green and Brown challenge. I wasn't very pleased with my first attempt so I made another one. I'm much happier with this version, very Autumnal and very pretty I think.

The image is Whipper Snapper and the leaf in the background (PSX F-2781) is my most prized stamp possession, I really don't know what I'd do without it. Ribbon was from a collection of ribbons puchased at HobbyCraft.

Acetate Bunny

This is an acetate card.

I used Acetate for the base card and then built it up with different card stock and background papers. Added the image, which again, I left stamped as it was and then added the flowers and the gemstones. Perfect for anyone's little fella even if I do say so myself. I've had so much fun with these images, I'm just gonna have to buy some and FAST!!!
