Hugs and Kisses

This is a freebie stamp from a magazine that I subscribe to. It also came with a 'Happy Easter' stamp that I haven't used on this card as I wanted to make the cards sentiment something other than Easter.

I also got the background paper free with the stamp. The greeting is a freebie from TLC Creations, she creates some lovely sentiments and is very generous with her freebies. Hope you like it?

Sketch Challenge C4C25

This is the card I have created using the sketch over on Crazy for Challenges Blog (C4C25) and the pink, yellow, green scheme over on Penny Black Saturday Challenge Blog.
The Sketch, as I said, was challenge C4C25 and the main image used is obviously Penny Black. The Penny Black Saturday Challenge Blog set the colour scheme and I think I have done pretty well considering I didn't think I would like using all of those colours on one card (too sickly) but nevertheless, I think with the promarker colouring, the added flowers, gems and the Hero Arts sentiment, it all came together fairly well. I wouldn't say I was thrilled with it, but it's alright!

C4FC Sketch 2

This is the second card I have made for this weeks Create for Fun Challenge Sketch. I used a very cute digi image from Sliekje (her blog link can be found in 'Other blogs I like to visit' on the right hand side of my blog.

They are so cute, so I thought I would incorporate one of them into this week's Challenge Sketch. Hope you like it? I know it's a boy but it reminds me of my daughter, she's ALWAYS on her phone too.

C4FC Sketch Challenge Week 8

This is the card I have made for the Create 4 Fun Challenge using the sketch they provided on their blog. I used a base card of white and then added a layer of red. The white background with cherries on, I created myself using my new Cupcake Hero Art Stamps (that cherry stamp is sooooo cute) then I added the main image by Mo's Digital Pencil and then I added the ribbon (from Hobbycraft) and then three ruby gemstones in the top left corner, although these are not on the sketch, I thought it needed something up there. I hope the girls over at C4FC like it.

Easel Card 4 Sarn

Here is an Easel Card I made for Sarn. We went out to Camden in London for a day out yesterday and we had a brilliant day. I will post some pictures soon so that you can see what we experienced.

I love making Easel cards and I am currently making another one for my Mum for Mother's Day. I made this using my new Paws for a Moment stamps that came in a set of three main stamps and a few sentiments, I love them as there is this one, one with a bear in an arm chair and the other is of the bear posting a letter in a post box. The background papers are from My Minds Eye (I think?)

Wanna win some blog candy? Go over to http://pinkpiggywiggy.blogspot.com/2010/02/fancy-some-pink-piggy-candy.html and you'll be in with a chance to win.

Good luck everyone...

Forever Flowers

A cutesy forever friends image on this lovely little card. C5 sized, it's petite but packs a small punch. I'm really pleased with how this little card turned out. I used the MS doily punch on yellow and white cardstock and then mounted it onto a swirly orangy background. I then added the ribbon and embellishments and some glitter to the flowers. The image was coloured with my promarkers and I added grass by his feet. Lovely, really pleased.

Teal Treat

A different card again, with a Penny black twist. Note I haven't coloured the image at all. Well that's the way i wanted it to be. Just the teal colour and the blue gems and no other colours on the card at all. I stamped the background myself onto plain coloured card using 'samey' colours and then mounted the image using my scalloped circle Nestabilities and then cut along the left edge with my Martha Stewart Doily punch (best thing I have bought recently - I love it, well worth the money!)

Hope you guys don't think it's too plain without other colours but I love it and it actually looks ten times better in real life (the photo is definitely not doing it mjuch justice in comparison).

Spring Rabbit

This is a new stamp that I picked up from Lili of the Valley. I just love this rabbit to bits!

I decided to go for a different sketch and added some flower decorations to match the background paper and the colouring (promarkers). Added some glitter to the flower heads and to the flower centres on the background paper. The other embellishments are all from Tesco (every little helps). All background papers are from My Minds Eye. Hope you like it.

Grandma's Treat

This is the card I made using the C4FC sketch Challenge.

I decided to make it 'Grandma' themed as it is my nanna's 82nd birthday on the 22nd of this month. Hope nanna likes it and I hope I have some luck with the challenges too.

P.S. Does this satisfy your inspiration Claire? (My friend Claire was on the phone to me moaning earlier that I hadn't updated my blog recently - so here it is, the first of a few to upload tonight)...

Wish me luck?

Lazy Sundays

I was asked to make a card for my friend Sharon's husband John. He was celebrating his birthday on 10th February. I've had these images for a while so I decided to use one of them to make the card as it was perfect for what she wanted. I added the name using letters cut on my BigShot from black mirri card and added the 'Penny Black' sentiment. I coloured in the image using my ProMarkers and coloured his shirt in Watford FC colours.

Rudolph Day 001

An early 'Rudolph Day' card that I made with my new clear Chickadee stamp and clear snow blizzard back ground. I added a glittered, snowflake and some gems, some ribbon and a greeting.

Doesn't look too bad does it?

Sketch 001 (by Fae)

Hi guys and girls. I made this sketch last night and thought that some of you might want to have a go at using my sketch. Of course it's valentine themed but you could also use it for birthday, wedding, or anniversary cards.

If you do make something with my sketch, I would love it if you emailed me (moonstone1405@hotmail.com) with your design so that I can see what you have come up with, I will be posting my design shortly so that you can see what I have made.

The Tremeloes

Didn't make any cards last night as I went out with my sisters-in-law Sherree and Dianne to the Watford Metropolitan Police Club to see a sixties band that's still going around, The Tremeloes. They were really good and we all had a really good time.

They ended with 'Silence is Golden' which was the only song I knew but it was a good laugh and good fun and the band were great. I bought my mum a copy of their CD as an early Mother's Day present and got each of the band's members to sign it for me, which they kindly did. Mum was over the moon with her CD but she was upset with me that she didn't get invited to come along with us and see them live too.

Look out tomorrow for a few of the cards I will make this evening.

Hugs, Fae xxx

Pins and Pearls Challenge

Every year at work, on the last week before half term, we have 'Feel Good Week' where you complete a questionnaire about all things that make you feel good / happy i.e. chocolate, the smell of vanilla, the colour red etc etc and in exchange you get someone else's personal details and you make them feel good all week (Monday to Friday).... You know who you have to make feel good for the week, but you don't know WHO HAS YOU???

On Monday I decided to give this easel card I made to my feel good buddy to make her feel valued and special for the day. It was the first time I had made an easel card and I hope she liked it as she has it on her desk.

Hope all the Penny Black Challengees like it too as I have entered it into this week's challenge 'Pins and Pearls'.

Here's another view of it (slightly more closer up).

The trouble with kids...

... is that I didn't get much card making done this week as I thought I would leave it until the end of the week and get some of the less important things done, like hoovering, ironing and other more boring stuff. However, they say never put until tomorrow what you can get done today, and that was proved when I tried to settle into making a few commissions on Thursday and ended up calling an ambulance for Lewis, my eight year old son.

I initially called NHS Direct for some guidance as he was getting really bad chest pains and they, putting the fear of god into me, suggested that an ambulance be called immediately... everything that was said after that was a mere blur and before I knew it, the paramedics had arrived with all their gear, heart monitors, blood pressure beepy things, the works!!!

After SEVERAL hours at the hospital with monitors and bleeps going off every which way but loose and every part of his little body being monitored and poked and prodded, they gave him the all clear but no clear explaination as to why this happened? He is still pretty poorly and his temperature hasn't quite reached normal but they seemed happy to let him be discharged. I just have to keep an eye on him for a few days.

Why don't hospitals ever give a reason or an answer to your 'why?'

Anyway, I hope to be making some more cards soon, I might even get him to help, it might take his mind off things for a little while. Will keep you posted and updated if there's any change but let's hope my little fella is out running around the garden with Harley again soon. Harley is desperately missing his best buddy. Bless x

Ice Cream Sundae

Here's the card I made for Passion for ProMarkers challenge. Hope you like it. I love this image from Whipper Snapper Designs and I coloured it using my Cinnamon, Ice Grey 1, Blossom and Green ProMarkers.

Sentiments are from a collection of clear stamps I have that no longer have their label with them so I am not sure who made them (perhaps Hero Arts?)

Flowers 4 U

Another great image from Penny Black. Coloured with my copics and promarker pens. Added some My Minds Eye designer papers onto the base card and the three circle embellishments were from Tesco's.

Love U Mum

Another Mother's Day card for that special lady in one's life. My Minds Eye designer papers and the black 'swirl' I drew freehand and cut out. The ribbon was salvaged from a birthday cake and the pearl adhesives were added. The butterfly circle embellishment was from Tesco's. Sentiment was hand written.

Scrummy Cake

Another Penny Black image. This is for a very special friend who has been through the wars lately and her birthday is coming up soon so I hope that this will cheer her up with it's bright colours and cute image. Hope you all enjoy it too.

This one was watercoloured and the big prima flowers were added as finishing touches along with the little diamante stones.

Happy Mother's Day

This is the latest card that I have made for the Penny Black Challenge. Hope that they like it.

I made this card for my mum for mother's day. I wanted it to be really special and the 'necklace pendant' was salvaged from a charity shop for 50p and the chain was a cheapie which I just threw away (as I only wanted the pendant really). Who says recycling can't be fun???

Early I know, but Happy Mother's Day mum, hope you like the card.
