Get Well Soon, Brian

I made this really simple card for Brian, our lolly pop man, he had an operation on his throat last week and I really hope that he is on his way to a speedy recovery.

Get well soon, Brian

Just a temptation...

Here's my version of the hallowe'en challenge, which of course Steve has said I'm not allowed to take part in, so I thought I would make a card to show you guys how easy it is to follow the rules...

Four colours including black. Penny Black stamp (from my BFF Sarn) and a little help from my nestabilities. A few flowers in chosen colours, dotted around and a greeting. Spooky eh? Well not so much, this is quite a tame card compared to what my Hallowe'en imagination is capable of but I didn't want to scare you all before bedtime.... Waa Ha Haaaaa

Hallowe'en Challenge

Hi guys, just a quick update... Sarn has won the prize for being the first to submit her Hallowe'en card for my blog challenge (Saturday 12th September by email). I will post her card on my blog once the judging has taken place. However, there's still time to get your cards emailed to me if you want to enter the competition and judging will be done by Steve at the end of the month. Get crafting girls...!

Glitter Me Silly

Hey girls, pop over to http://glittermesilly.blogspot.com/ and see the fabulous blog candy that is being given away. It's lovely.

Sad news...

I have some sad news... my neighbour, John, was sadly found passed away on Friday afternoon (they think he may have died on Thursday morning). He lived alone since his wife died, six or seven years ago (I can't be sure exactly) but he has missed her everyday since her passing.

He met her when they were teenagers (childhood sweethearts) and when he came back from his services in the war, he married her and they truly were together until her death parted them.

He was a lovely man, very lonely and chatty and although it wasn't always convenient to stop and chat, all of the neighbours found time for him. I sincerely hope that his wife was waiting for him and that they are now reunited... painfree and happy. Rest in Peace John, you will never be forgotton.

Easy Living

I made this card with my lovely ProMarkers and my new nestabilities scalloped circles. I love them so much and I'm really pleased with them. I think I like these more than my scalloped square nestabilities. I added some flowers and some gemstones and of course my favourite little dragonflies.

This is the whole version of the card. I added some silver/grey organza ribbon to coordinate with the silver adhesive glitter behind the Penny Black image and the 'Just for you' greeting that Sarn's sister, Sharon, kindly gave to me.

Gourmet Chicken

Another PB stamp. Chickens this time. Another stamp that I haven't used for a while. As you've probably guessed, I've been rummaging through my box of stamps and found a load that I haven't used for a while. The red and orange from the chickens have coordinated with the background papers perfectly. I have used strips of the red adhesive glitter to accentuate certain strips in the coloured background papers and added the ribbon just to finish it off. The 'Happy Birthday' stamp is also by Penny Black.

Pigggggggieeee

Here's the Penny Black piggy again. Lovely isn't he? Stamped on white card stock then mounted onto the red glittered adhesive (from Sue on WM) and then mounted again onto black mirri card. I then added the black ribbon and mounted the whole thing onto white base card. I then added the greeting and the black gingham ribbon from the Ribbon and Buttons stall (also on WM)

Special Birthday (40th)

One of the girls in my office will be '40' in November and she has kindly invited us to celebrate with her at a party she's holding. She asked me to make the invitations for her, which I have agreed to do and so I thought I would make her a nice '40th' birthday card too while I was at it. A bit far in advance for me but at least it's out of the way.
I used the piggy Penny Black stamp as he is just lovely when you build up the flowers and the foliage in the background. I did this with my Tombow pens. The numbers were from Tesco's and the silver glittered adhesive was from Sue (I told you she had some fabulous colours) on Watford Market. The adhesive pearls were also bought from Sue. I added the flowers and mounted the '40' onto the same colour card as the basecard and mounted it onto the same silver glitter adhesive as before.
A close up view. Doesn't the adhesive glitter look pretty?

Floating by...

Wow, I'm really pleased with this card. I haven't used this Penny Black stamp for a while and I got it out of my stash box and thought...mmmm... why not make something with this one. So I consulted my Inspiration Jar and came up with this.

The glittered black adhesive was again bought from Sue's Craft Stall on Watford Market and the ribbon was bought from the Ribbons and Buttons staff, also from Watford Market. I couldn't resist it, it was so pretty and I haven't seen anything like it anywhere else. So I used the colours on the ribbon for this card's theme. I added the flowers and gemstones and coloured the image with my Promarkers and my Tombow's, I love using the two together as they are such lovely colours.

Christmas Greetings

Another crimbo card. My old favourite...Penny Black hedgehog with holly.

The heart paper and the adhesive glittered paper was bought at Sue's Craft stall in Watford Market, it's brilliant stuff because the whole A4 sheet is adhesive and is great for going through a Big Shot as well. The Christmas embellishments are by Jolee's. The Christmas 'greeting' is also Penny Black. I coloured the image with my ProMarkers and my Tombow pens.

Birthday Boy

Lewis's Birthday this year falls on the same day as Ally Pally, so unfortunately we are going to have to celebrate his birthday on the Saturday, as birthday or not, I cannot miss out on AP. I have made this card for him for his sister Lianne to give to him. He likes the Forever Friends bears and I didn't want to make it too BLUE so I added some green to it and the background paper was perfect for this colour combo. Can't remember where I bought the background papers from but the stamp came from e-bay and the greetings are by Anita's. The glittered numbers came from Tesco's and the ribbon was bought from the Ribbons and Buttons stall on Watford Market.

This is the card in all it's glory. I haven't made the card from me and Steve to give to Lewis yet but Lianne loves this card and can't wait to give it to him. He's going to be eight and it seems as though he has been seven forever! And yes, he has forgiven his mummy for choosing AP instead of spending the morning with him, but we are going to more than make up for it when I get back and on the Saturday before.

Naughty Girl...

Been naughty again today... bought some cardstock and adhesive glitter papers from Sue's Craft Stall in Watford Market. I also got some scalloped circles by Nestabilities from her. So watch this space to see what I come up with next. I'm not at home at the moment so can't use my new nestabilities until I am back there to get busy with my Big Shot.

I'm looking forward to Alexander Palace Big Craft Show and counting down the days. I'm meeting Sarn there and can't wait to spend some money (even though I haven't got much but I have been saving up since my holiday so I'll have enough to get SOME goodies) Yay!
