Birthday Blues (Or not...)

This is one of a few images that Sarn sent me a while ago (probably a year or more!) and I never found a use for. Well now my little girl has a pet rat and it came in really handy. This was card was made for 'Soxy' to give to Lianne. Kept the card really simple again, using only a handful of colours to break up the blues.

Monkey Business

Lewis helped me make this card for his sister. He chose the colours and the papers that he wanted to use then I coloured the image. We then added the flowered gemstones, buttons and the sentiment. He has a natural eye for colour co-ordination. I think this image is called Changito (another sent by my friend Linda).

The board that the monkey is holding up has been glazed to add a little shine to the card.

There's a mouse in my tea...

This is the birthday card I made for Lianne as she is celebrating her 12th birthday today.

Not sure who the stamped image is by as I was sent this with a whole bunch of different ones that I hadn't seen before. As Lianne's main present was the rat, I thought this image would be perfect. I then drew the rat prints, added the key and the black pearl adhesives and then the sentiment. It came together rather well I think and Lianne loved it.

Another Cutie

This one has a Christmassy feel but could really be used for any occasion. As with all my ATC's I am happy to consider swaps for them and would really love to have a look at yours if you are interested in swapping.

Green, Green, Green

Not a big fan of green but I think this colour works really well on this ATC, and the ribbon co-ordinates quite well as well, with the green, white and blue. I added a 'Happy Birthday' sentiment just to fill in the gap. This one is also 1 of 1 and I have called it "Numbers"

My favourite by far... (So Far!)

I am soooooo pleased with this one. I just love everything about it. It's so eye catching and the plain black and white background brings out the colours of the stamped image perfectly. I'm actually going to use this idea in a card also to see if it works as well. I added the little key 'charm' to it (which can be removed and attached to a bracelet or mobile phone charm) as it could be used or swapped for a special birthday, an 18th or 21st perhaps.

I'm even happy with all the little white hightlights I added.

Christmas ATC

Here's another ATC I made, I've called this one 'All Loved Up' using the Forever Friends stamp and it is 1 of 1.

I actually quite like making these little cards now and have made more so if anyone is interested in a swap, let me know.

All Loved Up

This is a close up of the heart bear stamp. As you can see, I have glazed the heart, which I think works really well at making it stand out a bit more and brightens the colour of the ProMarker slightly. This is just a really simple card but quite effective. Sometimes I think simple is better.

I didn't really have the right equipment to corner the edges so just used a hole punch which unfortunately I guessed wrongly and some of the corners are larger than the others. But I think I overcame the slight differences by adding little pearl adhesive gems to the corners. Once I stamped the image I then cut out two 'ribbon holes' which I then threaded ribbon through and mounted again onto red card stock. I didn't add a greeting or sentiment as this card can be used for many different occasions.

Lovely in Lavender

I do like this Forever Friends stamp, I have just found so many uses for it. This is a "Thanks a Million" card that I have made for Sarn's sister Sharon. Her favourite colour is Lilac so I used a lilac card base and added the adhesive purple glitter to mount the image on. I then added lavender ribbon to the corners and five (yes, an odd number) lilac coloured adhesive pearls. Lovely x

12th Birthday Eve

This is my beautiful daughter - she is going to turn TWELVE tomorrow! Here she is with her beloved pet rat (and birthday present) SOXY!

I took this photograph this morning shortly after Lianne got out of her pit and the first thing she did was get "Soxy" out for a quick cuddle.

Lewis and Soxy

Lewis loves Soxy too. Here he is playing with her on Lianne's bed. I think she likes him too as she keeps coming over to her for a cuddle and a stroke.

I know Rats aren't everyone's cup of tea but they really are a fantastic pet. They're clean and easy to keep clean and they are very low maintenance and love to be held and cuddled, which, let's face it - we all love a cuddle. He loves her so much that he now wants one of his own for his birthday in September, I have just said that we'll see, I think it's more likely to be next year rather than this year, but we'll see.

Soxy (Cheeky Rat)...

Another cute image of our Soxy. Lianne called her Soxy because of her white feet. She loves chocolate and last night she ate some crispy duck and prawn crackers. Don't worry, we only gave her some tiny little pieces, to entice her out from under the sofa and our first rat (mine and Steve's), Georgie, used to love having a chicken curry with rice on a Saturday night. I telephoned my friend Rod to tell her about Soxy (as Rod also had two rats when we had ours) and she was so excited that she is coming over for coffee and a rat cuddle on Thursday, bless her...

Foxy Soxy

This is "Soxy", Lianne's new pet rat. I went out to the market yesterday simply to buy a few bits and bobs and possibly get a nice present for Lianne's birthday (next Sunday) while I was out and ended up coming home with this and a cage!

It was a well thought out present though as Lianne was overjoyed and totally excited to have received her new friend. The whole family have taken to her actually. Me and Steve used to have rats before we had children and so it was a real joy to have another in the house. She's so friendly and totally scrummy (despite her disappearing act for two hours under the sofa last night) Cheeky monkey errr.... I mean Rat!

Heavenly Angel

Kept the colouring of this one really simple in lilacs and pinks. Coloured with pencils again and added a mobile phone charm, ribbon and gemstones to finish.

Just Because...

I recently made this card for Sarn. I love this cake and added some gems and a little heart diamante charm to the ribbon. Coloured with watercolour pencils before I got my beloved ProMarker Pens and added some glitter to match the bling.

Faerie Creations

I love this card and was very, very happy with it when I had finished it. Anyone who knows me, knows I am mad about fairies (or faeries as they are also known). So when I received this image from Linda, I was very excited and couldn't wait to start using it. This was what I came up with. I love it.

Forever in Love (ATC Card 1 of 1)

This is my second attempt. I know it seems quite plain but it actually looks better in the flesh so to speak. The bear image has been mounted on foam pads and coloured with ProMarker Pens and the ribbon and gemstones were added to finish it off. I hope to get a little more adventurous as I gain confidence in making these little cards as they are only 2.5 x 3.5 inches, which leaves little room to be too creative although I have seen some amazing ACT's recently.

Antique Rose (ATC Card 1 of 1)

This is my very FIRST ATC card. I don't usually bother with these but I had some scraps left over and the stamps were just the right size for them. I then just added some gem stones and coloured in the image with ProMarker Pens and glitter on the flowers. I then cut out the image and mounted it with foam pads.

Anyone wishing to swap my ATC cards for one of your own may contact me here and I will get back to you or you can contact me at moonstone1405@hotmail.com with your address details so that I can post it to you. There'll be many more to come in the future as they are just so cute. Be sure to visit my blog again shortly for more ATC images.

Many thanks.

Anniversary Celebrations

Today is my 17th Wedding Anniversary and, although last year I never thought I get here, here I am celebrating 17 years of marriage! I made this card for Steve. The heart shaped image at the top left was cut out from a shop bought 'Forever Friends' card that I received a few years ago and was perfect to use with the heart bear stamp.

I hand drew the hearts around the white border and added some glitter to highlight the heart. The words were hand written and gemstones were added to dot the 'i's'. The heart ribbon is a little gem that I found in a charity shop.

Big Love

Another male card... don't usually have this much luck with male cards but I have managed to make two in one day with these stamps.

Can't remember where I got the background paper from but it's theme is brother, father, son, mate etc. I added some gold stars mounted on foam pads (mainly because I got a smudge up there from when I stamped the image and I wanted to cover it up with something and flowers didn't seem a good choice for a male card). I then added a simple gemstone in the bottom right corner.

If Friends...

...were flowers, they would be 'Forever Friends'...

I love this one. Definitely my favourite. So cute and has a number of different uses. On this one I made a 'friends' card. The little sticker in the top right corner says, 'If friends were flowers... I'd pick you' and I added three little gemstone flowers. Added flowers and pearls and freehand drew the border on the white edge at the top and bottom. Again, I coloured the image with my ProMarkers and used a white pencil to add highlights.

Bucks Fizz

Here's one of the cards I made with my new goodies. Forever Friends as below and coloured with my ProMarker pens and a white pencil to highlight certain areas. I added some glitter on the champagne 'fizz' and added some pearls and a coordinating ribbon.

New Goodie Stash

Here's my latest stash. I couldn't resist them and am now literally POOR! This crafting lark doesn't leave much in your purse I can tell you but I loved these Forever Friends stamps so much and couldn't decide which to buy and which to leave behind - SO I BOUGHT THEM ALL!
The Cuttlebug embossing sheets were just what I was looking for and are compatible with my BIG SHOT so I got those too. The little DAISY stamp was a freebie with a magazine I purchased while shopping.

Picture of Ali, July 2009

Here's the lastest picture of my lovely Ali, our newest adopted member of our family. She's so nutty but the hot weather we've had lately leaves her tired and lethargic. She is such fun though and loves going on the school run with the children in the morning. She loves when we come home and goes absolutely mental running round the house chasing her tail. I'm so glad that we got her - she has fitted into our family just perfectly.
